You can get them on ebay. Although they are expensive for what they are. I saved a bit of money getting one from www.eyeboot.com (klintay on this forum). Only reason I didn't save a lot was down to Royal Mail sticking an £8 handling charge for dealing with customs. Although I didn't get the choice to deal with them myself.

Well this post here is clearly not about the R1, but rather about solo mining an altcoin:
It wasn't the set-up part of the other conversation I was commenting on, but it was this point in the discussion where things went altcoin:

Yeh noticed that to, switched to universal currency for now. R1 seems to get a bit better hash-rate on universal currency.
If we can keep this discussion focused on the R1 and not the altcoins that it could mine that would be warm and fuzzy.

Please take all your altcoin discussions to the altcoin forum, they do not belong here.
this isnt a pool or coin forum, not sure why altcoin discussion wouldnt be allowed here..
the R1 is a SHA256 miner.. its not really specific to one coin.
if you have a problem with the R1 it would be pointless to ask in the altcoin section.

once it does tho the diff will drop down and it will adjust.
i put a s5 on it for a couple minutes. it seems to be working..
just have to wait till the diff adjusts
edit i think that helped you out, cause the diff started at 30,000 and now its down to 4000..

Once I got gigabit internet is when I realized how slow some of the old protocols are. Also a lot of routers are to to be able to handle a gigabit connection it made me look into much higher routers then I normally buy. I ended up with nighthawk gear with AC wireless.
I personally will never be using the R1 for a router myself.
