Plant is trying to sell the fight that is why he is trash talking. His fight with Canelo is going up against a stacked UFC card so they need all the hype they can get. Plant isn't really a household name so it will be harder to convince people to buy this fight instead of the UFC event.
Like any other drama that famous people gets in, this is probably like any other kind of that drama, to make more money because with this as you've said will sell more tickets. But given that a lot are still excited about this fight, I think that they're still going to garner a lot of audience.

There are videos showing Caleb Plant is really doing some hard practice and training for this fight. With that effort, we can really see that he is determined to win despite the fact that Canelo Alvarez is too much to him. But just come to think of it, Caleb Plant won't be considered as Canelo's opponent if he is not that strong. Caleb Plant should think that he deserves to face a monster as that was part of building a good career.

Defeating Canelo Alvarez is really difficult to do. He won't have that low odds for nothing. It shows his reputation is really top of the class.

Hopefully, he will not overtrain in this fight, long way before the actual date, so chances are if he continues to do some hard work, it might caught up with him in the fight. Like what happen to Manny wherein the cramps was attributed to overtrain and someone massaging his legs during the fight itself.

So his training should be perfect and it should be peaking on the fight night so that he is 100% ready because this is going to be a hard and grind for Caleb.

He's getting enough time to prepare. He should be more focus on how to be aware himself with mental domination of Alvarez,

It's tough to fight someone which you know that better than you, trying to do everything is what the fans expecting from him,
he needs to prepare both mentally and physically.

The monstrous presentation of Alvarez inside the ring would be tested one more time. Plant will take every opportunity
knocking him down he needs to stand at front countering those punches and try to throw much heavier than what Alvarez will give him.

Right, and now that he has Canelo's attention, it will be very bad for Caleb for bringing this as this is provoking Canelo. Alvarez has seen a lot and for sure he was not affected by it. And worst this can be his final motivation to really put a punishment on Caleb's big mouth. I'm seeing the best version of Canelo is this fight and I will not be surprised if the fight doesn't last a distance. So Caleb better be prepared now that he uses this strategy that will backfire on him.

Caleb has an enviable record in professional boxing until now (12 KOs out of his 21 wins, with no losses). But he has never faced an opponent of the caliber of Canelo. His last three opponents were Caleb Truax, Vincent Feigenbutz and Mike Lee (all three faced him for the IBF super middleweight title). These opponents can't even be compared to Canelo. And Caleb has again made some controversial statements. It is interesting that I haven't heard much from Canelo for the last few days. Caleb has been doing all the talk.

Well, with the Caliber of Canelo Alvarez, it's unlikely that Caleb will win. Canelo will look to fight an undefeated fighter as that's what the opponent can only be proud of as they have not fought a high-caliber boxer in their life. I am not underestimated Caleb Plant, but he should double his hard work to last in this fight and possibly wins it.

Unlikely. But not impossible. We have seen upsets in the boxing ring before. Remember the James Buster Douglas vs Mike Tyson match more than three decades ago? Tyson had odds of -4200. And I consider Canelo, even at his peak noway near Mike Tyson. Also, Tyson was -2500 favorite in his match against Evander Holyfield. And everyone knows what happened then. If you want recent fights, then I can give examples of Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz or Wladimir Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders. Canelo's odds (-800) for this match are much lower than what these fighters had before they got beaten.

So let's see what version of Caleb Plant will show, yes we don't underestimate him, but even if he works double hard, it might not be enough for beat Canelo in this fight.

In fact, I'm more seeing Caleb Plant is more determined to win here because of his status as an underdog.

Just thinking the recognition he will get if he will upset Canelo is already an inspirational to him and will make him more focus and serious to take down Alvares.

Can't wait for this match to happen.

Canelo doesn't talk that much in public, and if ever he opens his mouth, he don't trash talk, he talks more of the fight itself rather than his opponent. That's why he is quiet right now, just occasional post in his official twitter promoting the fight, that's it.

This is Caleb's biggest fight so far, and his record is on that line, because Canelo might take that 0.

Right, Canelo is far more superior, has the experienced to really beat any version of Caleb Plant.

He is even voted or name as the number 4 marketable athlete in the world (this could be debatable).

He needs to do everything in order to have his chance of winning this fight against high caliber Alvarez. Both have their own reasons to win as they are still on the top of their careers.

Caleb thought have a slight chance in the eyes of most fans considering how tough Alvarez was, and with all those previous fights that Alvarez wins he might need a deeper review of each fighting skills that Alvarez may use against him, doing overtime with his trainings and trying to imitate if what can be thrown to him, I mean more on shadow practices.

It may help him in preparing with all the counters that he needs and all the defenses that he should have, Alvarez was so smart and reading opponents skills is one that he always have inside his mind, he's always trying to corner his opponents and try to win the fight with a huge margin aside from knocking it down.

If nothing else, maybe we will see a toe-to-toe fight here as both are considered to be still in prime.
But I understand that Canelo is the favorite here but who knows, we may see an upset, though the likelihood is low.
Let us see if Canelo will exercise all his skills here to win without a doubt.

He always does, he never disappointed us in all his fights as he is always up for the competition, my only concern here is his opponent, would he still be the same fighter that is undefeated if he gets hit by a solid punch of Canelo Alvarez? Upset is possible but not likely, at least that's why everyone thinks as Canelo is on his best shape of his career, a prime Canelo cannot easily bow down to anyone.

Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders were both undefeated before they face Canelo Alvarez, but they were beaten in the fight and they can't even give a hard time on Canelo in the right. These two fights, all are dominated by Canelo, so if they fight an undefeated fighter, it's just nothing for him.

Billy Joe Saunders' first loss but was a devastating one, we saw the power of Canelo in that fight, he was not too aggressive in getting his opponent but he is using his brain to ensure that he will win the fight and slowly dismantle the opponent. I can't remember anymore how many undefeated fighters he beaten during the pandemic.

That's the right term. Canelo is using his brain in each fight that he has. Observing and not rushing things out, he just waiting for the right timing and not to allow his opponent to reorganize once he throw solid punches.

We've seen him from all those previous fights where he won and continue to dominate his division.

Plant needs to outsmart Canelo if he wanted to win this fight, he can use the same tactics observing and trying to absorb those heavy
punches that Canelo may throw to him and find the better angles where to hit back and try to make killer punch to win.
And that is what makes Canelo so scary right now, most of his fights have been won without the need for him to use some desperation tactic and attack relentlessly, he waits, analyzes his opponent and when the time is right then he can throw a few but incredibly powerful punches and win the fight, so whoever has any plan of betting him needs to have great endurance and the ability to take him out of his game plan, something easier said than done.

He knows he has the power to knockout anyone, but him being a mature boxer and with a big number of fights he won, he will not easily get intimidated and he will always stick with the game plan, slowly but surely, Canelo will destroy anyone who is in front of him.

A very good motivation to KO Plant! Alvarez is good at establishing his skills and strategy.

Nothing much aside from the lust to kick Plant's ass because of this concern. Alvarez will keep his focus and it will be good
to see him throwing more punches in a much earlier round.

It's adding up the intense from this fight, no brainer for the fans they will love to see Alvarez become more aggressive.
hoping to see more Blow by blow fights between these two fighters.

If he is going to make accusations he should have done that when they are making a deal, not when the fight is progressing, he just wants to annoy Canelo, which I think is a cheap trick he can thrash talk him but accusing of taking an enhancement drug is very personal and putting Canelo in a bad light, whatever strategy he employs, he will have a tough time beating Alvarez.

I agree. The best strategy for Plant would be to keep a low profile, and avoid provoking Canelo. Trash talk never works in the ring, as we have seen from numerous cases earlier. All that said, I am not sure whether Plant made the statements on his own. Sometimes the organizers want cheap publicity and they ask the fighters to make such controversial statements. IMO, I don't think that it is fair to blame Canelo for the positive test from Oscar Valdez. That said, Alvarez tested positive for Clenbuterol in 2018, which he claims to have come from eating contaminated meat.

The accusations just come into light now because Canelo's stablemate and Eddy Reynoso's prize pupil, Oscar Valdez was caught with a ban substance. That's why Plant was very quick to jump into conclusions that Reynoso's fighters might have been taken an illegal drugs to have advantage. But I'm far as I'm concern, the Canelo drug testing is over, he was exonerated by boxing bodies and they accept the reasoning that it come from a tainted beef.
