@Questat - perhaps politics is very different in sports. So Manny might have a hard time to win if he run for the President.

Lots of videos already circulating in Youtube, Manny has started his training in Wild Card gym with coach Roach. Mark Magsayo even posted in his in Youtube channel and you can see that Manny still has the power and the speed.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
Running for presidency requires big money,  and we all know Pacquiao is capable of spending what is needed as he is a billionaire in the Philippines. With what he will make in this fight, the guaranteed purse is $5 million for him, so he will make more or less 250 million PHP, and PPV is not included yet.
I think Pacquiao will make more money through PPV than his guaranteed purse, and yes, that's a big help for him to finance his campaign being a presidential candidate. That's why this fight is really important to him, and he needs to win this so he can still get a good fight.

Easy money for him, but regardless of how much he will make, still unlikely he will win in politics.

The funny thing is, Manny is favored to win in any boxing fight but he is a big underdog in politics.

That says, you cannot be good in everything.

There's no such thing as easy money when you risk your health and worse is your life in the ring, we just say it easy because Manny is a great fighter, but we can never be sure if they'll always be safe in the ring.

Even if you are good, if there are distractions in life there is no way you are going to dedicate your full time into it while his opponents only aim is to compete at the highest standards and thereby build a reputation by defeating Manny Pacquiao.

I agree here. Now that he's now in USA to start his official training, I hope he will keep focus on it although it's hard to erase what's on his mind about those things he left on the Philippines and those things he will faced once he come back.

If only Pacquiao start making noises on the politics after the fight, it's much better so he can focus with the fight. He is rushing things to build his name in politics.

I'm sure that he could not focus on this training as he will be attending some inquiries in the Philippine Senate for the graft accusations he threw to some agencies, though virtual but still causes him to be stressed out.

Maybe he deliberately do this to have alibi after he loses this fight hehe.

He's doing it on purpose and this fight might also be part of that plan, we know he's running for presidency and that's normal in politics. Anyway, he's already starting his training and as per his coach, he's in a good condition and ready to face Spence on a possible knock out match. The result will be different here, that politics thing will not affect the performance of Manny, his team can handle that politics side.

Yeah he do this on purpose since he wants money and fame, he surely think that if he can win this fight he can gather honor to the country plus he can take millions of dollars which he can use for his campaign. I believe this issues could really affect  his fight since imagine how people badly condone his current behavior so I expect that he will be pressured to  prove his self that his right and emotional stress could affect his performance this time. Hopefully we can see him win but I really don't like what he is doing know on politics.

Maybe you are right, but I'm sure he did not expect the result. He thought he could some sympathy from the people, but instead he was criticized for his ignorance, he doesn't act like a Senator who knows and familiar with the law of the land. Manny is in hot sit and he will always be criticized, and with that said, I see him not winning the election.

So now that he is back on training, I'm sure there will be more media coverage, local and international that will follow his every move and me might potentially see how good he is or what shape he will be going into the fight.

We will never know what's inside in him, he may look condition physically but deep inside he might be facing the struggle because his problem in politics is more mental and emotional, and if you have a big problem in that area, you'll certainly lose your focus.

Nah, it's just bad timing on his side though to go on offensive at this point in time and "accused" of agencies corruption. If loses, then it's fair and square, Spence is the better man. And then Manny can go back to Philippines and hope he wins.

I'm not interested in the alibi, I'm more interested in the result of the fight.

If there's someone that would likely make an alibi, it should be Spence because Manny is old and people would understand that his opponent might beat him because Spence is younger and undefeated champion. At the end of the day, people will still praise the legend because of his bravery.

What's done is done, he just needs to deal with the current situation, we know it could distract him but we know how to focus Manny is, so we still have to trust him. IIRC, during his fight with Margarito, he was also running for politics that time and they said it might distract Manny, but we saw how the fight ended.

He should off the social media and other things which can connect him on Philippines since if keeps reading the news about him for sure he will get distracted since there are so many negativity stains painted on his name due to his deed for the past couple of days although I don't like what he's path taking on politics now still I want him to win so he need time for his self and build up a strong pacquiao when the match happen. This is dangerous fight for Manny since we know he's not young anymore.

Let's stop discussing politics for a while, it will not help the situation and we will have a neverending discussion due to our personal perception of what is happening. Let's talk more about the status of Pacquiao's training in the US, and of course on Spence Jr. as well as this thread is for them.

Manny Pacquiao to win, still at 2.70 and 1.41 for Spence.

I'm with him 100% to win the fight but the issue he is facing is very hot and sensitive and it can really affect his mental condition during practice as that issue is different compare to those problems before. He is surely running for the highest post in the upcoming election next year and he really aims for that. Another one, he leaves the Senate hanging after he presented the alleged corruption evidence. He should do that after the fight so no schedule will be interrupted. The Senate can't open an investigation if the author is not present.
So there is too much going on in the life of Manny Pacquiao, i heard about rumors that he is planning to run for the presidential elections but what is with all these alleged corruption evidence he presented, is he doing these to build the mileage of his political career, with all these hanging above his head how can he relax and train for the fight and perform when it matters in the ring.

Even if you are good, if there are distractions in life there is no way you are going to dedicate your full time into it while his opponents only aim is to compete at the highest standards and thereby build a reputation by defeating Manny Pacquiao.

Even with all this messed manny is facing, I would still be 100% in support of him to win the fight, as a real fan, I would never leave him in times of trouble, and he maybe have a problem in politics, but that's out of the sports, let him handle that separately. If all of that would really affect him, then let's just see during the actual fight to know who is wrong or right.

What you read about people taking politics as a concern is because they care for Pacquiao. It doesn't mean we or they are leaving Pacquiao behind. There is no wrong or right statement about that for let's say Manny will win despite those issues he faces.

Like I said, on the other hand, Spence Jr is training without distractions since the fight was announced. Even how we are 100% supporting Manny in the fight, I will even put a bet on him as the odds are really attractive, we should always take note that Spence Jr is not a joke.
Problems like this should really be disregard first before the fight and its true that it would really become a big distraction for Pacquiao since this would be affecting his training for the upcoming fight.
He should deal that political problem afterwards at least he would be focused on the upcoming fight but i cant really blame him off on not to mind his current problems or issues that he's facing now
since those are serious ones and would really be putting himself into trouble if he wont able to give those evidences or reports about corruption allegation.
Spence is indeed a dangerous fighter and its still on his prime compared to aging Pacquiao but basing on experience then that would be some good match up.

Looks like the fight will push through despite of the lawsuit, Manny already flew to US for his usual trainings and he’s confident to win on this match. Yes, he should retire if he losses on this match, he’s too old and already a successful boxer, good for him because he owns a lot of investments which makes them one of the richest man in my country. Anyway, Manny will not let this fight go easily, expect a much intense one.
I guess that they've made the negotiation very well with the lawsuit and they're settling it because if not, this won't be pursued. And, not that old but in the boxing verse, he can still fight as long as he can standstill within a fight. His performance may not be the same as before but he can still fight and that's for sure. I wouldn't say that he's 'too' old but I agree about retiring. He has to retire because he seems to have a lot of plans that are about to do once this match is already done.

some known bookies here don't pull the odds yet for Spence-Pacquiao. so more then likely, this will gonna go thru. because if they have the hint that this fight will be cancelled, they will remove this match from their list. and as expected, Spence is still the favourite here. seems this is a good chance to bet on Pacquiao.
this will be a very good fight to look forward to this year. but it costs Pacquiao the million-dollar lawsuit here, if it has been settled already.

So what about the lawsuit, since the lawsuit is filed by a powerful management company they need to reach a solution before the fight taking place and hopefully it wont be his last fight but the problem is that he is too much involved in politics in his native country and hence i am not sure how much time he was spending training for the last two years along with his political career.
So a certain extend, this is Manny's difficult fight, not just Spence but in politics in the Philippines, I will assumed that he will be running for the highest office, so his focus now is divided. The lawsuit might be being work out behind doors, and it seems that Manny's camp is very confident that they are going to settle it and go ahead with the Spence fight.

Well, we have to consider the politics which is really his biggest problem now, while he is already in the US for his training, the issue about his accusation that there's a lot of government agencies that are corrupt is still here, and it will not stop because the other parties are also wanting to destroy his chance of winning in the Presidential election.
