No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
In my opinion, Javier Fortuna is the hardest fighter Ryan Garcia will fight, from Fortuna's 43 right now that is an experience that is surely legit, and just the minimum number of losses, of only 3, 2 No contest, and 1 draw, I think that is the experience of Fortuna that Garcia would need to look out for, but I have seen Ryan Garcia's strength from that skinny boy's body he can sure hit like a truck and that speed and technicality in him 18 Knockout, in 22 fights with no losses, is a great record, for a young guy, and I am pretty much impressed in his feat,
This reminds me of the Garcia's previous fight against Emmanuel Tagoe who're experienced with 33 fight with only 1 lose, but after the fight... all we can see is Emmanuel Tagoe is just running away and avoid to punch Garcia. Even Tagoe is unknown fighter, but there's some replay of his old fights that show he can box. I'm sure they have an agreement to make easy win for Garcia and I think Fortuna will so same.

Garcia claiming his next fight will be against Tank, if this will come true and let's say Garcia win, then he's deserve it since Tank isn't a dumb fighter who only looking for money.

Might be mate but we can't know for sure Grin Just give Javier the benefit of the doubt as he's more of a professional fighter unlike Tagoe who's just a local boxer from his country and suddenly got exposure when he was cherry-picked to fight Oscar's Golden Boy as an interim. I agree with @YuginKadoya, Javier might be the boxer who could push the kid and bring him back on track, Garcia just needs a wake up call from his inactivity which Tagoe cannot give.

When he fought Tagoe, it was like a mismatch. So I don't know if Tagoe couldn't really fight Garcia in a toe-to-toe scenario or there was a prior arrangement. That for sure, we won't know. But with Javier, I hope he will give him a lesson. Much better if he can beat Garcia so Golden Boy promotions will see what they are grooming here. So yes, for me, Javier is not the same caliber with Tagoe. I am hoping he will give a much better fight inside the ring.

It was clearly a mismatch and not just a speculated mismatch, it was clear that Tagoe already learned that he made a terrible mistake when he got a combination punch from Garcia in the early rounds which have him kneeled down and by that time, he already made a strategy to survive and not to engage in a toe-to-toe fight because he will probably knocked down much earlier. I'm also hoping that this time, Javier Fortuna, could teach some lessons to Ryan Garcia.

That was an arranged fight, we can really expect a mismatch for Tagoe and Garcia..

How do you know it was an arranged fight? I mean tagoe was like 32-0 and who's boxer losses his mind to sell his precious career record for a lose?
That was clearly a mismatch, it wasn't arranged, it was cherry picked. People were deceived by Tagoe's record as if he's worthy to beat as an opponent for Garcia. That guy Tagoe might have fought a bunch of mediocre boxers.
Obviously, he has no chance on winning fighting toe to toe against a faster and younger Garcia.

He was actually like 31-1 before he fought Garcia, we can see it in his updated record now (https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/289944) which is already 32-2. Well, I believe it was a cherry picked fight, it was a fair fight but obviously Garcia is the better fighter and that 32-1 is nothing to him.

It would be exciting to watch if Fortuna would level with the aggressiveness of Garcia. For sure, Garcia will be very aggressive in order for him to have an impressive win, but if Fortuna will not match that aggressiveness, we might see another boring fight and that will disappoint the fans.
Fortuna was a aggressive boxer and not afraid for going toe to toe, but do we will see Fortuna will aggressive in this fight too? I doubt it.
As Garcia is aggressive boxer, even his opponent is technical and distance boxer, it will not be boring since Garcia will chase his opponent and we will see a sweet science if he's lose. Tank is the appropriate for technical boxer, Haney might be big for Garcia.

That was an arranged fight, we can really expect a mismatch for Tagoe and Garcia. But this fight with Javier, although to say that Javier gains higher winning expectation, yet for sure Garica won't let that easy as he also wants to prove something to the crowd. Likely, this fight won't disappoint us, it was indeed a match fight and only the best man win.  Anyways, I put my bet to Garcia...

It was indeed a mismatch, remember that Oscar dela Hoya himself picked Tagoe just to have fight with his boy. That fight was a no brainer because we can say that the fight is already decided who's the winner, but winning wasn't the only goal in Garcia's camp because they need to prepare him up before they decide to face him with some good names in the industry.

Even if Tagoe would try hard at that time, Garcia was really too much for him. If he go for a toe-to-toe, I'm afraid he'll just be knocked out giving Garcia a nice result.

Fortuna is coming from a lost, so maybe he will be extra motivated to get back at winning. So this might be a good fight for both of them, specially Garcia who will look for a signature knock out win.

We will have to see if Fortuna will have the balls to surprised us. Tagoe leading up to the fight was all talk, but he didn't do anything on the fight, so yes, it was an obvious cherry pick for Ryan as his comeback but his performance is bad because Tagoe doesn't want to fight, but hide and go on his bicycle.

Seeing Garcia's strength before he stopped for a while maybe this could still happen but on the other hand Fortune wouldn't let this go easy of course.
I personally prefer Garcia for now, especially with the confidence he displays, this really makes me quite sure of this fighter but indeed boxing sometimes has other surprises and we also won't rule out the possibility of surprises in this fight.

As much as we don't like Garcia's antics outside of the ring, this kid has a special talent. He just need to focus on it and try to sharpen out. Maybe he just need someone to mentor him, like Oscar, but know sure if Ryan will take it though. The Fortuna fight will be a good barometer and and measure if Ryan is back on boxing 100% or not. Because this should be an easy fight for him so we should see him at his best form and knock him out early.
I quite agree with what you said because his talent in the world of boxing feels useless with the amount of drama he does outside the ring. actually this is very unfortunate but indeed we can't say much especially if he always does things that he doesn't really need to do.
As for this game, I hope he doesn't pull out again because it would be a shame considering I like the way he plays and I haven't seen him fight in a long time.

Well, his antics are one thing about him, and because he has charisma I really think the influential world is making a ruckus about him, from the podcast of Logan Paul getting hit by Ryan Garcia well some people are loving it, but for me, I think I will ride the hype train that strength, in my opinion, is really legit, and this kid has a real future, he is like Naoya Inoue, because of that power in his fist, but he also has the speed and the technicality, and I really love it, but Fortuna is the real deal and he got to not underestimate him,

He should prove himself first by winning against Fortuna with an impressive result and win his first title before barking the heavy dogs in the industry.

There's no doubt that he can win against Fortuna, I don't expect that this fight will be close, the outcome of this fight will now defend on Fortuna if he is willing to go toe to toe to entertain the fans, and most importantly if he wants to win the fight.

Garcia will try to win by a better outcome compared to his previous fight, so I expect a KO win by Garcia here, hopefully the odds are already up.

By the way, odds for Garcia to wins is -833

Quote
Despite Fortuna’s resume and his powerful left hand, the Dominican has opened as a heavy betting favorite against Garcia. According to the best boxing betting sites, Fortuna is a sizable +450 underdog and Garcia the heavy -833 betting favorite to win the July 16th bout at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

The chances are good in Garcia's side if Fortuna chooses to have a toe to toe with him, he may have some advantage because of his experience compared to Garcia but the latter is a knockout specialist and he still remain that way if he will have the right chance, he is just struggling now but I know he can overcome it. It will be fun if indeed that's going to happen in their fight next month.
That's right because if I see things like this it is full of risks for Fortuna and it will be profitable for Garcia.
if you look at Garcia's fight he will be even more aggressive if indeed the opponent does something like this and he actually prefers this style of fighting and obviously this is not very good in my opinion even though Fortuna's experience is superior, in this case it will be a risky.

But still there is also risk for Garcia, although is it very slim that he will lost in this fight. But we really don't know what's going to happen because one punch might change everything. That's why Garcia should really take care of Fortuna in the early round, maybe 6 rounds or less and defeat him by a knock out. So that we will see if he really is over with his mental illness and he is really back and focus more on his boxing career now, this is like a second wind for him.

That's not appropriate about him to be saying stuff about that, all those things that he said to the boxers ahead of him could backfire at him. Sure he does have a talent and being a knockout artist at his age is a gift, he surely knows as well that's he's not that fully ready and the whole boxing community is still observing his performance while he's trying to get back at his feet.

Just like the other victim of Garcia maybe except Tagoe, if they engage and toe to toe, they will be destroyed by that left hook, one of the best in this division.

Tagoe chooses to run and survive than go toe to toe against Ryan Garcia, he just wants to protect himself as he knows he has no chance against Garcia. I don't know why that guy fights Garcia when he has no intention to win and to be honest, his record seemed worthless after his performance.

That guy made Garcia look bad because he is all chase throughout the whole fight so they get Fortuna again because he is a guy who can engage being a two-time champion and so Garcia can boast that he had beaten a two-time world champion, everything has been to make Garcia look great to the eyes of this fans but not to the eyes of the boxing community, after Fortuna, he should look for a better fighter like Tank or Haney if they still want to fight the king of instagram.

Well, we have to blame them both for that ugly fight. Tagoe doesn't want to fight, Garcia didn't chase him enough and look for the knock out punch.

It's the question right now if Fortuna will be the same?

What do you guys think? Will he likely engage and go mano a mano? or if he taste Garcia's power for the first time, will he do a Tagoe?

We cannot blame him because Emmanuel Tagoe wasn't the one who called for the fight against Ryan Garcia. It was Oscar De La Hoya who arranged this fight and cherry-picked Tagoe for Garcia as his comeback after his inactivity fighting with his mental issues. We haven't thought that Tagoe will perform like that because we don't know him either, so we based it all by his records and did some speculations that maybe Tagoe might be the guy who will give a hard time against Garcia but we received the opposite of it.

That's why it's just right that Garcia will have an impressive win before going for a big fight, and I think this guy Fortuna is not the same as Tagoe who just run and forgot to fight, after this fight, if Inoue could win by KO, then the wait is over for him to fight the champions challenging him.

Who do you think is the next best opponent for him?
