For now, let's wait for the outcome of this upcoming Casimero fight.
If he wins, then, that's another boost to make the fight with Inoue to happen.
They can get good revenue out of this if this will push thru because Casimero seems to know how to sell his fight.
But if he will lose, that's like a slap on Casimero's face. So he should be pressured for this upcoming fight and not take this for granted.

This is the kind of fight Casimero don't want but the WBO made it mandatory, Casimero wants to make it big and he can only do that if he beat the best in his division, we all know the saying in boxing
Quote
to be the man you have to beat the man
his promoters should make this happen, Inoue and Donaire are the fights that can boost Casimero's status winning many titles in the past did not make him a well-known boxing celebrity and only a fight with any of these two an make it happen.

win lambo...

Yes, it was reported last time that Casimero's belt was stripped but it really did not happen, he still is the current champion and he is going to fight against his mandatory opponent, so this is exciting because if he wins this, we have Donaire/Casimero to fight Inoue.

If going to fight Butler will finally land him to fight no other than Inoue, then it's worth it and the fight is a good warp-up for him before facing the monster. most likely when this fight is finished, there will be no choice for Casimero but to fight him anyway, unless they don't really have the guts. That would be the most exciting fight in their division and will become a historical fight too. Nevertheless, he needs to beat Butler first and he also needs to take this fight seriously because if he lose, there are no reason for Inoue to fight him anymore.

Casimero would love to fight Inoue, he is calling Inoue consistently but it's just the camp of Inoue is not ready yet. If Casimero will beat Butler, then we will probably see a unification fight either a fight between Inoue/Donaire, or Inoue/Casimero... No more Casimero/Donaire because they are under one promotion company.

The pressure is indeed on Casimero here. Because Inoue is just waiting for him or to whoever will challenge his position. Casimero should not screw up this upcoming fight. Otherwise, maybe even his fans will lose the appetite of supporting him. The match with Inoue has been put on hold by unexpected circumstances so if he will lose this fight, he's screwed and high likely, Inoue will look for another opponent or maybe even fight Donaire again.

What do you mean his coming fight? Isn't this match is already cancelled? And Casimero was stripped off his title for failing to show up for the weigh-in in Dubai?
That's basically because of Casimero's health declined to pursue the fight.
He shouldn't be fighting in the next 5-6 months at the very least for recovery.
This thread should've been closed already. Or did I miss something? I've heard the news about 2 weeks ago didn't realized this thread still exist.
No, the belt was not stripped, you missed the latest news regarding this particular fight.

Read the news about it so you'll get updated, the right will proceed, probably next year.

JOHN RIEL CASIMERO REMAINS WBO TITLEHOLDER, MUST FACE MANDATORY PAUL BUTLER

Nice catch! I'm sorry my bad I did missed it. So that makes sense as to why this thread remains open.
Thanks for enlightenment btw.
I didn't thought they could still pursue the mandatory fight, because that was the last time I've heard on the local tv news.

I'm looking forward for this setup for Casimero and Inoue to fight next.

Not sure since there's no news yet, but I guess the organization still pushing this fight, they will reschedule this fight.

The call for Inoue maybe will take place after Casimero defended his title from Butler. It might be possible to see the rematch
between Donaire, since Nonito just won his last fight.

Though still depend from how the camps deal and who will be between Donaire and Casimero will Arum signed..

Casimero is an amazing boxxer with a lot of dedication and perserverance when it comes to fighting his opponents and winning. But before we can talk about a fight of Casimero vs Inoue, we really have to wait out to see how the fight with Paul Butler turns out. Butler is no pushover and who is to say Casimero has an upperhand in this fight? I think Butler has a good chance at defeating the WBO Titleholder.

Wow this is a great news for Filipino fans and supporters as John Riel Casimero will not lose his belt instead it is just a mandatory fight that declares by the council , i also thought he loses the title because of this uncertainties but now at least he can still keep it hold and depend his title in the next fight .
So he should be pressured for this upcoming fight and not take this for granted.
knowing casimero's attitude ? he is the type of boxer that always gives his best in every situation so win or lose surely that is his best fight .

The fans were already hoping for the Inoue match but it didn't happened yet. But we have to be patient waiting on what's going to be the next move of Casimero.

Actually, Casimero vs Inoue should be done by now if there's no postponement happened during the peak of Covid-19. We should now see the result of it and no more waiting. But things got changed and that fight was officially canceled instead of postponed. In the end, both boxers ended up fighting a different opponent.

Let's skip with Inoue first and focus on the current one that is more possible to happen. It's now become mandatory for Casimero to win to attract again Inoue as the latter wants another opponent instead to take on next year. Casimero is ranked 2nd behind Inoue. If Casimero will lose in this match, no reason for Inoue to take the challenge.
No,it was already been set until those mandatory fights had set in which each one of them should settle out on those fights that had been fixed on and we did really have these delays but since its still ending up on

organizations decision whether these fights been need to be set up or having postponement or delays according to their likes and very situational specially now on these pandemic days.

Soon we would really be able to see on this fight that we had been anticipating for long but we do all need to do is wait up.

You have to go back mate on their first scheduled date, April 2020. The fight was already set but got postponed and eventually canceled because of Covid-19 related issue. The next time they are about to plan and organized it, that's when the different opponents bring up.

Naoya Inoue wasn't able to secure a US VISA because of the embassy being closed due to lockdown as per Bob Arum.

It means the fight was already done deal. It got cancelled not because of mandatory fights they should settle first.

Yes, correct. No room for losing on Casimero. Inoue talks already that he doesn't want Casimero anymore. Unless Casimero won, maybe Inoue will have an interest again to fight him. That what happened to Casimero is really unfortunate.

The Casimero vs Butler should suppose to be finished now as we speak if that injury didn't happen. Waiting time again and it is annoying to wait for long again because of delays.
He shouldnt messed up if he do really aim for Inoue and thats what he should be focused on. Casimero should win up fights that would be thrown at him until he would face up Inoue
because lots had been anticipating for this fight to happen but he shouldnt take Butler easily because this dude isnt something that one could be easily taken down.
Both are aggressive i should say and the ones who are good on technicality plus having that endurance or stamina would have the edge.

Anyways, moving forward, bother boxers finished already their respective fight and this fight of Casimero against Butler is his 3rd fight after the canceled event bout with Inoue. If won, I think that's enough already and Inoue should be next.

This means that even before Casimero has flamed Inoue, there should already be a match for them to happen. But the pandemic hits, everything has stopped and the matches, the crowd, and until Casimero has voiced about a certain date for their match until the WBO steps in.

Yeah, I agree.

That's the good news, the fight was only delayed, it was not canceled because Butler is the top challenger and he always wants to have a shot at winning the championship.

Butler has nothing to do with the reason why the fight will be canceled or pushed. It's on Casimero's side that makes everything delayed because of that sudden medical status about him. All individuals, media, and everything involved are already on the weigh-in event venue and Casimero didn't show up without giving an early notice about his status resulting in WBO questioning his camp if the reason is legit.

Moving forward, after WBO gives them 10 days to show everything, they are able to comply with it , the title remained for Casimero and the fight will now continue next year.
With some recent videos of Casimero, it seems that he's healthy and doesn't have any problem at all. But if it's verified with his medical condition,  things have to go for next year.

We have to wait for it but there's no exact date yet when this match will happen. Bookies that have already booked this match will just have to refund the bets.
