Botafogo only depends on itself and that is my fear, if they have not learned anything from last season and repeat the same mistakes I would sell everyone and close the club because it makes no sense. In my mind, if they are thinking about this they have already lost.

Corinthians will not be relegated...

And I'll win the bet we made  Cool Cool Cool

I'm joking, I made the bet on Corinthians to be relegated hahaha, I didn't forget, 5 USD is at stake between us  Cheesy

A classic or derby is always unpredictable, probably the worse kind of game to bet, and a result like that for Corinthians can be enough to give a piece of mind to the team and continue to win another games
Let's see how both teams will react, but with the victory of Botafogo yesterday, the difference is now 6 points

Those 5 USD are enough to buy a good chocolate to sweeten the sad life of a Flamengo fan who, it seems, will be left in the "smell" again this year.

I never believed that Corinthians would be relegated, I hope I'm right about that because I don't want to lose our bet lol

what else do you think are the key factors for a team to suceed?
do you think popularity is something to take into account or it doesn't matter so much?

it's always nice to see conviction paying off.

I think they involve many variables, but the main factor is the club having an objective, putting this objective into practice with a good leader who is capable of extracting the best from the players and the entire coaching staff. Dealing with people is not easy at all, imagine a squad of 30 athletes (which is the average of a professional football squad), to reach the peak of consistency and be champion, the entire group of people needs to be extremely competent.

yes, it's not easy to be a Flamengo fan these days
do you think they will come back and at least have a change?

at the end of the day sports betting is usually about "taste" but I'm a bit more interested on seeing the ones who approach it looking and studying data.
any thougths on that?

Much of my analysis is based on statistics, from the last games, the number of goals scored at home and away, the number of goals conceded when playing at home and away, head-to-head matches, how many goals scored in head-to-head matches, etc.

There are many statistics that I always like to look at to base my decisions on. Then I just give weight to each category and in the end I arrive at a percentage for each thing. I like to bet when the championship is already "mature" and that way I can already know the ability of each team. This has been working out well, and I hope it continues for a while longer.

it's crazy how games should be independent but in reality they have some effects from past games
like, if a team wins a lot they can have a confidence boost and this helps them to keep the win streak
this kind of thing

what are you using to check stats? any specific website or just the website where you gamble?

It could be, for me Flamengo's biggest adversary is Flamengo itself, dealing with EGO and power can sometimes be complicated. As the club has everything up to date, cash in hand, power of persuasion and the stadium project, the club may have the feeling that everything will be easy, but it is an illusion, the other teams are structuring themselves too and whoever settles will be left behind, as was the case with São Paulo, which was a powerhouse and is now a supporting actor.

You're right, Corinthians depended much more on luck than merit this year and not being relegated was one of them, by a hair.

Unfortunately, I'm starting to think that Botafogo will be champion and well deserved, after all, Palmeiras lost a very important match that would have reduced the Rio team's big advantage, now the dream of a third title (tri) has become more difficult and perhaps too late to be achieved.
It will be the same as last season, there is no difference whatsoever and Corinthians remain in the comfort zone without having to worry about the relegation zone despite the disappointment because there was no surprise and no improvement that they showed.

Yes, Palmeiras mistake was their defeat from Corinthians because with this defeat Palmeiras lost the opportunity to fight for the title, after the draw against Fortaleza made the match against Corinthians very important to be able to win but they really had bad luck and had to lose.
Botafogo has no competitors for now, the 6 point difference with Palmeiras will not change any result for them to be able to win the title.

Corinthians will not be relegated. There are hidden forces coming from the Brazilian government through its fan "Presidente Nove" and he will never let Corinthians fall. And I'll say more: next year they will have some benefits coming from the judiciary, which won't even have to pay the club's million-dollar debt. The great leader, president mollusk, would never let his beloved club go through difficulties.

Joking aside, there are things I will never be able to understand. I also never imagined that Palmeiras could lose, but that's how it is, in a classic anything can happen.

I will lose this bet and I'll be happy hahaha
I won't have to watch B Series next year like fans of Santos in 2024  Cheesy

But there's a lot of work that Corinthians will need to do to be competitive next year, even if they reach semi finals of Sudamericana and Copa do Brasil, the team did not play in a good level, and this team is not in shape to dispute a title
I'll go even further, they had more lucky this year than merits to reach semi finals

Fortaleza surprised me in yesterday's game. Although I had no luck betting on the team, this time it worked out because their opponent was Juventude, a team that is fighting against relegation. Despite Fortaleza being the visiting team, when I saw the result almost at the end, it was no different. It was a sure bet and practically guaranteed! Juventude created opportunities, but without any results, even though they had more possession of the ball. With this, Fortaleza is back in the spotlight in the Brasileirão, competing for the title with Botafogo and Palmeiras. If these two are careless, they could have problems with Fortaleza.

This year's Brazilian championship is increasingly surprising, I doubt that at the beginning of the championship anyone would have imagined that Fortaleza or Botafogo would get so far and finish as one of the best teams in Brazil, or even at the bottom of the table, I doubt that anyone would have imagined Fluminense or Corinthians there...

I agree about Fortaleza. They have always been mid/low table teams. I myself did not believe it, but today I bet almost blindly on them. They have really become better under their coach and this improvement has been going on for years.

Surprises me most about Fortaleza is that in 2017 the club was in the third division of the Brazilian championship, that is, practically at rock bottom and the club's rise is quite an impressive feat... would it be good management? I have no doubt that in a few years the club will emerge as one of the Brazilian football powers, this is very good for football in the northeast region, which has always been a supporting actor on the national scene.

It's a mix of good financial and technical management. Vojvoda was a turning point for the club, along with president Marcelo Paz. Together, the two simply became part of the club's history. Vojvoda has had million-dollar offers but has remained at the club, and that says a lot about his management and what he wants.

what else do you think are the key factors for a team to suceed?

I think we should follow the same path as Fortaleza, bringing the team closer to its fans, having an organized fan base that thinks with the club, doing a lot of marketing to attract new fans and of course having a team with a coach who is minimally engaged and good financial management of the club. I think it's something along these lines, following Fortaleza's formula.

Since you bet a while ago, with this rise in BTC, how are you going to arrange it? Payment in LTC? Haha

I haven't seen the current state of the BTC network, but it was a bit congested these days.

What about Marcelo's behavior from Fluminense when arguing with coach Mano Menezes? Do you think one of them made a mistake or both of them made a mistake?

There's a video going around of Marcelo ignoring a young fan who called him out countless times, I didn't expect such behavior from a professional player like him (video). There are more than one similar cases.

I think that since the value is low, it can be in any currency hehe, just for fun.

About the player Marcelo, this situation is totally sad, it shows that even though he seems to be a good player in the sport, as a person he seems to be of the worst quality, I watched this video with the children... and it only shows that he is a bad character... man... they are children, he is a coward, an idiot, to do this... children are children, this is not done.

I was reading that with Palmeiras' defeat, Botafogo's chances of winning the title went up to 73%, while Corinthians only has a 7% chance of being relegated.

Looking at the top of the table, the numbers indicate that Botafogo had 64 points in 31 games before even playing against Vasco, so now they have just consolidated that lead.

About Corinthians... I would love to see them being relegated, as a Colorado fan I have already been angry with the "timão" twice for having lost the game that would have given us the right to the title... in the last one, we were clearly robbed. But I don't think that will happen this year.

The name of Edilson Pereira de Carvalho still brings nightmares to Colorado fans today  Cheesy Cheesy...  I would really like to see is Fluminense pay the debt from the B series that has been pending since the João Havelange Cup.

The results of yesterday's games had some very interesting results:

Bahia 0 - 3 Sao Paulo

In the last few games Bahia has not been doing well, they had gone 3 games without winning when they were going to play Sao Paulo and adding the fact that they would be playing at home, I expected them to at least get a draw or at least score a goal, because in the last 5 games before playing Sao Paulo they only failed to score a goal in the game against Flamengo. But Sao Paulo, which in the last 4 games has been having good results, showed Bahia that they are much better by scoring 3 goals and not conceding a single goal.

Botafogo 3 - 0 Vasco da Gama

It was a very easy victory that Botafogo managed to get and with this victory Botafogo has a 6 point advantage compared to the team in second place. I think we are seeing the same scenario as last season, now we have to see if when there are 4 rounds left for the league to end Botafogo will not make a mistake and at the end of the league they will not achieve anything like last season

I ended up betting only on the Botafogo and Internacional games. In the São Paulo game, I really expected Bahia to play better and, because I didn't know what to expect, I ended up not betting on the game. Regarding Botafogo, I hope they learned something. But at this moment, I believe they are being held accountable by everyone around them.

Ohhhhh, what a match that was between Corinthians and Palmeiras, with Palmeiras not only losing but also failing to score a goal?  Angry Angry

Palmeiras is still in 2nd place in the table, but Botafogo has increased its lead, giving it more breathing room in the final stretch of the championship.

Now, if Palmeiras wants to be champion again, it must not lose any more matches, since there are only 5 rounds left. At some point, Botafogo must make a mistake, since it has been a long time since it lost a match and we know that no team can just win and win, Palmeiras must at least win one match when Botafogo draws or loses.

Corinthians lose the Copa do Brasil, lose the Sudamericana, but manage to beat Palmeiras  Cheesy

I bet a lot of people lost their bets yesterday because I thought Palmeiras were going to win the game as Corinthians had just been disqualified from the Sudamericana and were likely play the match disappointed
