The fixtures between Ajax and FC volendam today is an opportunity for volendam to break the decade long looses they always suffer whenever they meet ajax, although ajax happens to be the favourite of the bookies because they are playing from home.

The current form Ajax has is such that Volendam could take advantage of to secure for themselves three points and move far way from the relegation zone on the table, if they win they will have ten points and that will be trying to displace sittartd at the 11th position with ten points aswell but goal difference may distinguish them,  ajax have just five points from eight matches played so far, a result they have not gotten in a very long time, it even seem like the worse so far in a decade. This match was actually rescheduled to enable ajax qualify for their Europa gamesm

agree here regarding Ajax, they are looking as bad as possible at this point, but they will eventually climb in upper half of the table
it is not about their strength or weaknesses, it is about others in the league, there is simply not enough good teams to keep them low for too long

but it is great fun to have them playing relegation derby with Volendam tomorrow, sure that Feyenoord and PSV fans are making memes about that Smiley, too bad that I don't have any channels on twitter to follow that
Yeah they'll definitely climb up in the table even though they don't make it to the  Champions League however they'll just suffer for the maintain time until they figure out how to bounce back to their full potential this season,it's really sad for the whole team currently and I'm pretty sure that they can't wait to start performing well again, if only the assistant coach had accepted to take over as the manager maybe with the few ideas he's shared with Erik Ten Hag cause Ajax is made up of young players that are hungry to play all they need is a better coach with good tactics.

Well it's normal for rival teams to make mockery of their rivals especially when they're performing very poorly like Ajax is doing currently however I expect that Ajax would try to do well against Volendam at least to reduce the embarrassement their fans are receiving currently from rival fans.

I even still wouldn't rule out possibility for them to get into Conference league playoff spots.

After the expected defeat, or rather humiliation, Ajax are now down and last in the Eredivisie table for the first time with 5 defeats in a row.

I am curious if Ajax can still turn the tide, it would be a shame for Ajax to play against relegation for the rest of the season.
I think it's way to early to seriously talk about Ajax fighting to avoid relegation. No matter how bad they're looking now, I just don't believe that they will play so bad all season long. Maybe they will make some changes in winter transfer window. I even still wouldn't rule out possibility for them to get into Conference league playoff spots.
There is KNVB cup games this week, but so far nothing very interesting didn't happned. Clubs which play in UEFA competitions will join cup from 2nd round.

I think right now they are really in a downward spiral and this is hard to overcome. But there is some hope left because they still have 2 games less than most of the other teams, which would make it look much less horrible than it is now. If they win those two games, which frankly may not be that realistic, it would still be looking quite differently. With a winning streak they could get close to the upper third of the table pretty quickly, but what are the odds for Ajax to have a winning streak anytime soon?

I think they can turn the tide, because if you see they have a way better team than anyone, the problem is, they are start to be really far from european spots, so they have to turn the tide really fast. The gap is very big at this moment.

Ajax in their last five matches have failed to win a single match, although they usually manage to get goals but they fail to win or even a draw, they have really been at their worse this season and I wonder if their change of coach was that bad that it has to affect them this much in their performance.

They are currently at the relegation zone on the table, and this is something that hasn't been seen with ajax in a very long time, they have been known with brilliant performance in the eredivisie, but sadly this season has been a really poor and bad one for them as they started poorly and are yet to improve, they may just have to focus more on exiting the relegation.

What really happened to Ajax Amsterdam? Like I have never seen Ajax flop to this extent for a very long time now, is it that they sold their key players that have been performing well for them over the years or is it that they are financially unstable? Like what really changed their game play this season because I can't believe that a strong club like Ajax in Netherlands's Eredivisie will experience this kind of loss at an early stage like this in their season. Well, whatever that may be going wrong in the club, i pray they recover soon though the league is still young as anything can still be possible i just wish they can still bounce back to their impressive form.
Sébastien Haller was sold by ajax management. But they didn't have a worthy replacement for sebastien haller. Even so  they did well last season. But the team understands very  well the absence of sebastien haller this season. Ajax  should have decided to sell haller after finding a replacement. However  Ajax's biggest  weakness besides  their attacking weaknesses i s their defense. If Ajax's defense is not strong, I don't  see any chance of them doing well. The team conceded  21 goals in 8 matches. They  conceded about 3 goals per match. A good result is not possible with such a bad defense. The coach  should reorganize his team's defense.
After Erik ten Hag exit from Ajax they sold their many big players without having any suitable replacement which bring big hole, and now they are at the bottom of the league table after playing 8 games and if they are not going to play like alive club then surely we can have them in deep hole which is surely not easy to fix in short time.

Currently their defense is surely embarrassing with having 3 or 4 goals in every match is creating chaotic and their recent defeat against an average English club Brighton is also not good now they are looking for the new coach which bring changes in players mind and have positive results as well which is surely not easy, but they need to work on this as soon as possible if they want to have better end of this season.

Imagine betting on that one, how much can be the odds? 5000/1? Im refering to some bet like after 10 rounds Ajax is gonna be in the bottom of the table.

The main problem i see is, the players are in a very deep hole, in mental health, they cant overcome this situation.

We will see  the situation of a team like ajax. It was completely  unexpected as well as sad. Ajax is a big team of Eredivisie league. Last  season we did not see the expected performance  from ajax. But this season  Ajax's position is at the bottom of the  points table. Out of 8 matches  the team won only one. in the match They have  lost each of their last 5 matches. I don't know why Ajax has  suddenly deteriorated like that. The coach  should change his match strategy. I don't think  this team is weak. They have the ability to perform well. Players must be confident. And the coach has to bring changes in the match  strategy. And Ajax's defense in particular must be strengthened. If the defense is  not strong, we will not see a good  performance from Ajax in the  upcoming matches.

after lose from Utrecht, Ajax is playing PSV, can't be harder for them
but Volendam, that is currently rock-bottom, is playing Excelsior, and in case they win, and Ajax don't win over PSV that has all wins so far, Ajax will be rock bottom in Ere, what a feat to make
-snip

to quote myself, it happened, Ajax is an actual rock bottom team in Netherlands, what a time to be alive

5:2 wasn't unexpected, PSV is a class for Ajax at the moment, but it is actually really strange how bad is Ajax playing, maybe their second team would be better
all teams want to beat Ajax now

well, the games in this round had results that left me a little surprised, AZ's game against NEC was suspended because the player Bas Dost fell on the field and was unconscious, and it's something very sad to see a scenario like that, it just shows that even though football is one of the few sports with fewer accidents of this type, it is still not impossible for those types of things not to happen. I wish Bas Dost a full recovery and good health. well, with this game suspended my bet was cancelled. Another game that shocked me was Twente's game against Feyenoord, I confess that I expected more from Feyenoord but they lost in this game, Feyenoord came into this game with a streak of 4 games without losing, which gave me some confidence that they could win of this game with victory

It is true that Twente is also performing well this season to the point that in the last 4 games they have achieved 3 wins and 1 draw and are currently in the top positions. But even so, I saw Feyenoord with a chance of winning this game, anyway, with this defeat, Twente is in position number 3. And finally, another result that surprised me was the number of goals that Ajax conceded, it was obvious that Ajax would lose the game against PSV, but conceding 5 goals and having a very humiliating defeat, I believe that no one expected to see that happen and unfortunately every Ajax fan must have left the field disappointed, mainly because Ajax is currently in last place.

 Sad

This is a table result that I would have never expected, ever. Ajax isn't only having a hard time, but they are getting destroyed. They are conceding over 2.5 goals per game and it could only get worse now after they lost their game against Utrecht last week. That game was so alarming because it really made clear that Ajax isn't struggling a bit and will soon be back in business. This is now looking so dangerous for them that it is only about not getting relegated and nothing else. Every game that they don't win now is another punch in their face. Losing against PSV doesn't matter because most other teams will lose that game against them as well and Ajax isn't playing for the title anyway.

AZ Alkmar is down 0:2 against Nijmegen at home. Unexpected, but difficult to comment something about game without watching it. In other game Twente won vs Feyenoord 2:1. Twente had very solid 1st half, in 2nd Feyenoord tried to take over initiative, but that wasn't enough to achieve positive result.

No way man, this cant be true, Ajax keep goind deep in the rabbit hole, now not only being in the last position of a very weak league, also losing and being humillated by PSV in the derby from 1-2 to losing it in only 15 minutes 5-2, its gonna be really hard time in Ajax lockers i think.
Damn, everything started so good for Ajax, their 1st half was probably best what we saw from them this season so far. But what happened in 2nd half, it was a bit sad to watch Ajax players getting beaten like kids
This game was interrupted, but not for fans behaviour as usual in Eredivisie, but one spectator had health problems. As I understand, he is OK now.

It's really sad how Ajax continually get worse by every game, for a team who were so good last season and other seasons, it's expected they wouldn't get this bad just so soon but then sadly it's the reality, I taught for once today they were going to win after leading in the first half by a goal, I was even about to conclude that the birth of their improvement may come after this game.

They did prove me wrong by the second half where they were unable to secure a single goal allowing PSV to dominate all through and brutally wining them with four goals in the second half, just when I taught the first half would have the most of goals then PSV showed me otherwise, it was as if PSV took on the spirit of Bayern Munich yesterday in the bundesliga, although PSV was at home but then it was an humiliating loss to Ajax. I just hope they stay out of relegation this season.

I think it was a decision taken too late. For the first time in the league I have seen such a bad Ajax team and they are at the bottom of the league with one win.
The manager Steijn may be a good or bad manager, but we have seen that he has not been able to make things work with Ajax and he will try his luck with another team from now on. Especially after selling their star players one by one, Ajax will try to do their best to recover with a new manager.

I was just having a discussion today about the game Feyenoord Rotterdam against Lazio Roma and I said that I believe Feyenoord is going to win it because they also have this incredible record in the Eredivise and there is no way they don't score at least two goals in that game because this is just the situation they are in, they do score goals as if there was no tomorrow. The answer was that the Eredivisie is a weak league and that is the reason why Feyenoord is performing well in the league, but will lose the game against Lazio. I said that the first three teams in the Eredivisie right now should not be taken lightly by any opponent and definitely not taken lightly when they play away from home against Feyenoord. There it is, a very strong 3-1 win and a big chance to finish top 2.
