Being a supporter of Ron Paul and his ideals I believe in this coin. I also believe that if word of this gets around to other patriotic individuals within the US that you could see a lot of acceptance of this virtual currency in the real world.

There are many liberty minded individuals in the US who would be inclined to support this coin where they would otherwise not accept any type of crypto. IMO this is good for this coin and for virtual currency as a whole.

That said the coin could still die but because of RP supporters this coin has a certain "base" that other coins do not possess. We just need to figure out how to get the word out.

So are we hard forking or not?
Catcoin just did it. The fork had problems but only for ~20min and now it's fine.

Let's do it now and get it over with. Seriously.

Someone needs to contact colinistheman for that to happen.

How long is the diff retarget at present anyway?

right now its 24hours with 2min block time (720blocks)...

i think the best would be to do it while not many people have wallets so not so many people are affected by it... then all the pool owners need to be contacted so they can all shut down at the same moment and update and go online again or something like that(but coordinated) also the "starting" difficulty could be set to a value chosen by the dev...

Answering my own question.    The OP says diff retarget is 1 day.   Block time target is 2 mins.

86400/120 = 720.

So it seems to be every 720 blocks.

Yeah, kinda long.

i have 7 rpc coins should i hold on to them will they go up in price what are peoples thoughts.. will we keep a constant hashrate etc etc... thanks in advance

I posted already on what can happen to the price after calculating possible coins released per month and other factors in this post.  Dogecoin was slightly higher when I made the post a few days ago, but the Ron Paul internet army will most likely drive this coin that high:

"If RPC hits Dogecoin market cap in 3 months, which is easily possible since Dogecoin isn't that high, it will be .177 BTC each or $133 a coin.  If it hit quark market cap in 6 months, which is an extremely long time in cryptocurrency, it would be .288 BTC or $225 each.  This assumes the Quark market cap would be the same then as now, when in reality, cryptocurrency will probably see large growth in 2014, and BTC will probably be a lot higher than $800, making all of those prices much higher.  The govt could maybe blow everyone up with a nuclear weapon before then, though, so nothing is really guaranteed."

veebee:  I see your transaction in the blockchain.  Probably you just need to wait a while.   I believe that blocks are taking longer right now due to high difficulty and a drop in network hash power.

This coin suffers the same problem that a lot of coins : diff retarget is way too long.
Diff retarget should be done in a smart way :
- short to be able to adapt quickly
- but still avoiding jumps too big.

2 example solutions :
- change diff retarget to 10 blocks using the last 100 blocks time to avoid block find interval randomness. Difficulty retarget will happen a lot faster, and have some inertia.
- change diff retarget to 10 blocks or more, but use a weighed formula on the n last blocks. Something like (n-1 + 0.99*(n-2) + 0.98*(n-3) + ... + 0.01*(n-100)) / 50.5 . This is nearly the same, but react faster to difficulty changes.

Many other formulas are possible, I'm no expert.

But those difficulties retarget's stall or instabilities (like in fedoracoin which can jump from 5 to 15 without any network hashrate change) are common to too much alt coins when there's simple ways to avoid it.

no nothing at all. it doesnt even show it likes it was sent just has question mark

Oh, probably RPC wallet is having issues mentioned in this forum. As I said everything worked perfectly from pool to coinedup but you might need to add some nodes to your wallet configuration.

Probably coinedup is slow. I sent my RPC from mining pool direcly to coinedup and it worked perfectly.
