You cant compare Ethereum with Bitcoin. Both are completely diffrent and both are good for diffrent use.

Each coin is good in its own way and it is difficult to compare them objectively, personally for me bitcoin is in the first place only because it is the progenitor of the entire cryptocurrency
The only features that I know makes Ethereum better than Bitcoin is its fast rate of transaction and also easy it is to deploy other networks on it. Also with the use of smart contracts large volumes of transaction can be done in no time but aside all these i still prefer to invest into bitcoin other than Ethereum lol.

The OP has his reasons for choosing ethereum over bitcoin, which might be right, but if we take critical look at it, both have their strong and week points. If we are to talk of the most established coin, then that should be bitcoin and the reason is not far fetched from the fact that, it was the first. Then by virtue of this, it has more mass adoption than ethereum.

According to me, Bitcoin is the first crypto currency, which has got a good time to become famous. This is just one coin . Etherium is better because it is the only platform for all coins today. Which makes it better.

I believe every coin has its own features and potentials they operate differently bitcoin is the first digital money that makes it well recognized same with ethereum they are both unique
Ethereum is useful than bitcoin that's my point ,the usability and of erc20 tokens is what bitcoin don't have ,smart contracts too so I think someday ethereum might surpass bitcoin in that area but it all depends on investors
The scalability and speed of transactions are the only advantages. Everything else is an addition or update.

Brian Kelly, the founder, and CEO of an investment firm focused on digital currencies BKCM LLC, believes that Ethereum will be a better investment than Bitcoin.
Brian Kelly, from his point of view, points out the following reasons:
👉1. Ethereum Futures Contracts
First, Kelly believes that Ethereal futures contracts or ETH Futures will soon be launched, as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially decided that the Ether is not a security. This action has removed the biggest obstacle for Ethereum – The 2nd ranked coin in market capitalization to institutional investment.
However, what Kelly does not mention is that launching the Future Ethereum could more likely to pull down the price of this second-largest cryptocurrency rather than help it.
Since the launch of the Bitcoin futures contract, Bitcoin’s price has plummeted and many blamed the use of investment tools to manipulate the market for this decline.

Secondly, Kelly pointed out that the Augur platform was one of the main reasons for Ethereum's rapid growth when compared to Bitcoin.
As described by the analyst, " It’s a decentralized prediction market. What’s interesting about this [is that] this will probably be one of the biggest decentralized apps on top of Ethereum. If [augur] doesn’t slow the system down, that can generally be a positive for Ethereum."

Finally, Ethereum's upgrade from hardware mining to software mining will drive the continued growth of the cryptocurrency.
Ethereum creator - Vitalik Buterin, also recently explained that Ethereum's scalability improvements to the layer solutions will multiply one to another - improving the number of users that the system can handle, which increase the processing capacity of up to 1 million transactions per second.

Those who think that Ethereum is better are because they believe in technology more and believe in what they can see in front of them. People who believe in Bitcoin are because they see Bitcoin being widely used and highly recognized!
That's quite fairly said, its quite the name of bitcoin and the reputation that makes it the best, but still some coins are great in terms of features and technology behind it. Such as transaction speed, fees, etc.
