I've been searching for ICOs for a few days and there seems to be many cases of scams and hacks which kinda scares me. Obviously, there is no 100% certainty which is going to be a successful one but is there any way to identify which ones are at least going in the right direction? The first one I looked at was Mossland's Whitepaper and they seemed good with solid community. Or should I just buy BTC or ETH? Any suggestions and ideas would be very helpful!
In my opinion, if you are new to the crypto, then do not rush to invest in the ICO. It is necessary to understand what is happening around. Which projects are promising, and which are not very good. I prefer to give up any investment for an indefinite time . It's too quiet at the market now ... the market is sleeping, I think you need to wait a while and see where the price goes , up or down everytime you feel good with those things, maybe its the time

You can invest in ICO but make sure you study it first about there project if that project will bring a good contribute in crypto world. It's good to invest in ICO as long you know that the ico is good and will be growing in the future. You had to invest in ICO before when the cryptocurrency was cheap. Today, when the market is almost ready to start its bull run, it will be senseless. sure, until you find a VERY good ICO. Just my thoughts.

This is interesting field with plenty of projects, but many of them are scums. It takes time and money to move to the next level and be able to generate nice sums, also you should networking with ppl who are good at this field and this is hard part, but anyway you should choose your "own poison", cyz crypto, ICO, trading, e-com, blogging, youtube - at all niches they're guys that are able to genereate $xxxxxxxx, just pick up whatever you want and fully commite and master this nice. I have suggestion with this upcoming ICO, it is pretty interesting for me right now. Good luck my friend 
Investing in ICO is a very good tool of earning. I think that you just need to carefully choose the project before investing and thus the risks will be minimal.
But there is no exact way to choose the best ICOs to invest. It's easy to say, but I'm really sure you have also fallen on scam projects. It needs luck and time to choose safe ICO to invest with, because most of them are scams and you must stay away from it.
