Clueless!
Hi all.
This is the update,
Unfortunately Bitmain is really hard to deal with. They take our calls and sometimes promise things on the phone, but since the first contract I received a couple weeks ago they didn't send me anything new in writing, and I told them I can't move forward with such a large order without a written contract.
We're are still doing our best to make it happen, but I don't have any good news for you all yet.
If you have a way to buy somewhere else sooner, please don't hesitate to do so.
In my last conversation they told us "maybe it's better to have the order in April", which is frustrating.
They mentioned and option of getting T9 miners in February and tried to push the A3 as well, but didn't give me a clear written "yes" for the S9.

I will let you know if anything changes. Please don't pay anyone who claims to be me and says this is happening. I wil only post from this user (watch out for variations in the user name or new users) and I will also send an email from [email protected] if we move forward.

Regards.

Still unclear, are we gonna pay Bitmain up front direct..if in in this? Or through you with escrow....what are the 'likely' nuts and bolts on how this is gonna shake out?

Bitmain A3's are now $980 and March 2018 delivery..so not sure about those...going the way of the never to ROI Dash D3 Bitmain miners it seems....

thanks

Thank you VERY much for the time and effort you've put in on this Nemo - it is greatly appreciated. I'm on the list for 5, but was able to pick up 5 S9's for the March batch a little while back. I'll still remain on the list as you may be able to secure better pricing than buying direct retail from Bitmain in small batches.

T9+ batch online now on the site 10 working days delivery. While this thread was going on, at least 3 times the S9 was up for sale at the bitmain site. I think this is the third time I post this here: Bitmain doesn't want distributors, this will not work. I'm sure the OP has the best intentions, but as I said before, no experience dealing with Bitmain. I think now he's finding out the kind of company they are, and how crypto hardware sales work.

Are there any news?

Seen some info on Bitmain's Twitter feed that they are in Bangkok for their own event, on their website, they are out of the office until the 26th January, so maybe that is why?

Nemo can count me out of this group buy.  I was able to score 10 S9s and a couple of A3s directly from BM.

Not used to that...do they accept bank transfers (Bitmain) or is it BCH only?

I'm in for 2.

Read the whole thread - your 2 is out.

How do you know??  I just read Nemo's newest post and said NOTHING about any quantity of orders being "Out"!  Hell, he hasn't even gotten written confirmation from Bitmain on the orders yet!

I don't want to wait around and jeopardize the entire order because a long list of people who ordered 1 or 2 miners don't pay on time and make us wait until all the funds are collected. I'm assuming that working with a smaller number of parties will make reduce this risk.

Pretty sure your out. Secondly like the above poster said this has stalled. Many people have been able to buy 1 or 2 units directly from Bitmain when they do their limited releases most days. You are better of having the money ready and just refresh Bitmain website at the right time.

I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like this project has flat lined.

With BM releasing another round of S9's prior to the new A3's, you'd think they could have given nemo a solid confirmation by now.

@nemopowertools
There are quite a few people in the US, reputable members of this forum that offer escrow services too - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recommended-bitcointalk-escrow-services-2439910

I’m jealous of you guys that can just order 10 units from Bitmain. My max capacity for miners is 20. Someday I hope to have 20. It’s gonna take a long time for me to earn that much though. If only Bitmain did credit card orders.

Bitmain had a sale today in 2 rounds.  Morning and evening.  Did we get any of those units with this group buy?

I was able to get 8 units at the 5pm sale. I'll remove my name from spreadsheet if it's still editable.

Same here. I secured 10 units and 5 L3+ as well.
Nimo, thanks for your time doing this group buy. I really appreciate your effort. I've e-mailed you already, you can delete my name from your list.

With all the scammers around this forum, everybody needs to be vigilante, have their guard up. If it smells, it's probably rotten.

These scumbags are crawling around here, trying every trick and playing everybody for their hard-earned money = VULTURES.

I do understand the rationale of prioritizing large orders to reduce the number of unique participants to fill the order...however, this should've been communicated up front. I've been holding off on ordering through other sources thinking I was good to go by getting in relatively early on in the group buy.

Really?  You ever try to herd cats?

Would you rather work with / collect money from / get product to 20 people?  or 60 ?

Which is easier ?

Hats off to Nimo for trying to make this work..

As I said in the very first sentence, I UNDERSTAND THE RATIONALE, it just would've been nice to know that was the plan. I was under the impression it was first come, first serve. I absolutely appreciate what Nimo is doing, it's a thankless job with a very skeptical audience. He was grilled hard and didn't flinch.

I'm ordering roughly 10 miners with local pickup in Shenzen, I want to make sure I'm the the final list so if someone that ordered 20/30 miners want to merge our orders together PM me.

To be clear your miners will be shipped wherever it's needed while mine remain in Nimo's facility waiting for me to grab them.

If I had the money. I’d offer to do a bulk order from  Nimo of 100 or so of his units to fill the small orders. That would help him and help those of us who can’t afford to order more than a few.
