Both have separate meanings & investment
If you are in cryptocurrency for short term, then you may suffer serious loss of your capital and that of future profit. There is nothing like impatience in this game! It's either you wait and get rewarded immenselly or you are in a hurry or get burnt!
I first sold all the coins. And saw that they increased several times!! I now sell a maximum of 30%, the rest hold.
Short term investment is much better than long term, here in long term many time investors may feel frustrated to hold for more than one year or more but on the other hand in short term investment you usually hold less than a year.
How are you handling your portfolio? How much are risking in % of your portfolio in short term gain vs. Long term gain?
If you asking about %My portfolio is:
1) 40% Bitcoin/Ethereum
2) 40% long term, stable good projects like XEM, NEO, Waves (just my opinion)
3) 20% risk coin.
I have about 80 to 20 in favor of long-term. In a long-term handling I have coins ethereum and cappacity. In a short-term handling, I have a ripple.
I prefer the two long and short term and there is a advantage on it for a short you can earn immediately while the long term u just wait the time to pump on it higher and lot of earnings
90% long term and 10% short, however I am considering upping the short term to 25%.
Its up to you whether you like long term to short term. If you want long term then you just need is too wait. While short term is in immediately you can get earn. But i think it better if you choose long term because it has potential to grow more and and rise it value.
I think I also choose a long tern way than short term because I use to like it before I join a campaign Jere in this forum and I believe I never gonna like a short term in any way to make money but it just my opinion.
I choose long-term, short-term investment I do not have the technical strength operation, may lose money, and long-term investment, I think right now, suitable for long-term investment, easy to obtain higher profit.
I think these both are more profitable: Long term & Short term. If u do one good combination with this two method it ll give u very big profit monthly and also for long term.
i think it good to hold the two main _BTC and ETH for long term and then buy a few alts for short term. however, it depends on whether you are a trader or holder.
Just HODL. It is only the one correct strategy.

From my experiences, long-term trading is the best and safest investment in the crypto market, because you never miss the opportunity if you have promising coins. Short-term trading is not very profitable, because you earn only 10% to 100%. You will earn more than 1000% in the long term..

I think before you'll sell the investment you need to know exactly when you bought them to calculate the term. This can help to reduce what you lose from taxes. Therefore in this sense it is better to have long-term gain.
I have a one portfolio for short term and one portfolio for long term investings. In short term potfolio i buy some altcoin and sell them again in a very short time range but in long term portfolio i buy most of the altcoins and wait for earn good profit from them.
Some tokens are perfect for day trade and short term holding. Some others are good for long term investment. This is why you need to differ them and make two different portfolio for yourself.

Having some patience and sticking with some coins you believe have a good future is something that for me anyway took some time to get to grips with, it's easy to get into the quick selling mindset.
It can also depend on how the coin acts, it could be in a a pump phase so whilst also being your long term coin you would be crazy not to take some profit but a solid portfolio would include those coins you view as long term and short term coins.

One should invest on short as well as long-term, Short should be at least 3 months and Long should be for 1-2 years!

In may case i need a profit monthly so i prefered to use a short term investment like trading and waiting for some ico and even buying some tokens for a small profit. but some of my money are sitting already in bitcoin and etherium wallet.
