A major concern of ASUU is not just for staff and lecturers welfare but also the welfare of students. if you follow closely on the news and some of the major reasons why ASUU is still on strike, you see that it is traced down to a breach in contract by the government on an agreement they had with them about pumping some certain amount of money (in billions) yearly for the rehabilitation of school facilities in the country as they are in a sorry state.

According to ASUU, the agreed amount was only paid once during the Jonathan administration and since the buhari administration, the government have been unable to meet up with the agreed amount for a year and have not paid for a couple of years hence the decision to go on strike. I watched and heard this from an interview ARISE TV had with one of ASUU's officials during their regular Morning show, and the amount stated that was agreed was about 250billion naira yearly for like five years, since the government said they couldn't pay all at once. Jonathan paid one of the first deposit completely to ASUU, but since Buhari's Administration, they have not been able to pay 200 billion completely, how poor and unconcerned!!!

Federal universities in Nigeria are in a sorry state, old dilapidated small and uncomfortable lecture halls, classrooms and other structures, we have dilapidated student hostels with no or poor toilet facilities, as well as empty school laboratories...So how can students learn comfortably? Our Federal higher institutions cannot compare with that of some other African countries, If we really pride ourselves as the giant of Africa,  our government needs to be held to responsibility.

Government strategy and aim na to break Asuu into units but dem never fit do am becos this time dem really mean business. Them self don see say government want to stop dem from lecturing in different universities and getting paid differently na the coco be dat wey make the two people dey fight and no want gree. Them go tell us say dem no want make government spoil the public school system for tertiary level like dem don do for secondary but dat one no be the real struggle, na money matter.

Naija government need to restructure everything so that things go fit work well. The type of education and the structure white men give them na wetin dem dey use till now and those things were not designed to favour Nigerians and her cultures and norms. This one no be their actual salary sha na after dem deduct all those small small dues including taxes e dey remain like this. Besides almost all lecturers dey lecture for 2 or more institutions wey dey make dem earn extra money at the end of the month. Na the government of wey change Nigeria salary structure get the blame. ASUU lag behind since then wey they suppose negotiate their salary but for now e no fit possible again. So literally, ASUU na their own problem.

Is of no doubt seeing that those politicians are trying all their best to make sure power remains in their hands. How can a lecturer paid 120k per month while they steal our funds to buy all expensive ride and houses abroad, if politicians salary can be sliced down to same as lecturers I bet none of them will come out to fight I will be president and I will be minister or that, those positions will be empty and no one would to occupy it for any reason. Those listed amount is not even 10 percent of politicians waldrop allowance ect.

How would they be so naive to down pay their lecturers someone who tutored them to be what they are today and by right all teachers are meant to receive a minimal of 5m per month, this would make lecturer be more serious to strive their best to raise good student. Instead is students that teaches their selves what lecturers does is to stretch hand to steal from the poor student who can't afford to even pay their school fees.

This is very bad and I think if all those nonsense and Injustice should stop the better our country would be for us. Imagine in abroad no politicians uses convoyed but in our country they made available those things wasting our resources.

Asuu members for no dey worry if to say the government people wey dey for chair no dey too corrupt. Na that money wey dem dey waste make Asuu want make dem also collect from the national cake. Since wey I take dey follow Asuu things na this strike wey deir mind don come together pass to see say them get government to change the narrative becos this government too corrupt and nothing dey move just to stop youths from daily bread and release corrupt governors from prison.
