Since there have been problems with Imgur lately, there is now a script for fixing Imgur images here in the forum, it would certainly be helpful to translate them into the available languages.

[Script] Imgur to TalkImg - automatically fix your broken images

I would reserve the translation in German if @cygan and @1miau you are not already working on it?

Hey Pmalek, thanks for your offering! I'm sure that it would help if you could make that post you mentioned in your local board Wink
I mentioned that you guys are looking for a Croatian translator in our local Latest News thread. It's one of the most active discussions in the Croatian local board. I hope you find who you are looking for.

maybe Trofo or Pmalek (sorry for not mentioning other very active users from the croatian local board - there are just too many of them Wink) could find us a translator from their section who could then join our alliance.
If I had some more time on my hands throughout the day, I would apply and do some translations myself, so as not to lose touch. Unfortunately, I can't help you on that front. I wouldn't mind making a post in our Croatian local board on your behalf if you want asking if there is someone interested in joining the Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators. Perhaps they don't know about your initiative and don't frequent the Services board, but would like to take part. Let me know.

In fact, no intent to abuse your trust, but if you feel like translating the OP of this ANN we will be delighted to have such a respectable standard-bearer in the Croatian board, regardless of who the future main translator will be. But maybe you are too busy or you think that it is better to leave the ANN for the future main translator because this way he'll be able to moderate it. So, as you please, without obligation Smiley

i went through our great memberslist and it looks like there are still some users missing who could be translators for the following languages/local boards:
Code:
Chinese, Croatian, Hebrew, Japanese, Dutch, Korean, Skandinavian

although i am already very proud of our AOBT gang, i would still be pleased about any new translator Grin

You're right cygan. I have just updated the list of available languages.
✂️
But for all the languages you mention, active members who are also native translators will be welcome if they want to join us, or anyone can vouch for another candidate.

fine!

Since you mentioned them, Trofo has already shown his sympathy with the initiative and even offered his help with Croatian off the record (his time is limited, with many different ongoing projects), and GazetaBitcoin talked some time ago with Pmalek and the sensations were similar if I'm not wrong. But I agree with you that it would be great if we could also find somebody to help us with pro bono translations from time to time.

BTW, I have not forgotten about sharing the "decalogue" with the new members, but taking into account the latest events I'm thinking about how to propose a few updates so that it looks better. If any of you is waiting for them, please, have a little patience with me.

<...>At same time, I strongly recommend to remove gagux123 from translators list as he is simply unable to perform translations. He translated one of my topics on May 2nd but he simply made a mess from that translation. Multiple Portuguese users pointed him out severe mistakes he did regarding the content itself.
<...>

You are right that several native members corrected him in Portuguese and you also did it with the format and other mistakes. In fact, as we don't speak all languages, posting in the local boards should be the ultimate test to assess the quality of different translations.

In his favor I must say that he has received some Merits from other native members, he is doing this for free and that he has shown interest in the past when he created his own topic where he said:

<...>• As I said above, this is a way for me to "repay" all things this forum has given to me!

That's why we invited him before other senior members. We as a team are growing little by little, and I personally would prefer to be patient and let him grow with us.

But as you already recommended his removal, let's discuss about it in private and vote, if necessary.

One small suggestion to joker_josue: maybe it would be better to add a hyperlink on TryNinja's profile too? I mean here:

Thanks for the tip. In the next OP update I will do this.
With so many updates, any day you guys get mad at me.  Roll Eyes

Don't worry, you're doing your job and we are doing ours Wink

Chinese will be difficult because not many natives visit this board, and the same happens with Korean and Japanese, although AHOYBRAUSE is willing to help with the latter (he's not native, but living there right now).

But for all the languages you mention, active members who are also native translators will be welcome if they want to join us, or anyone can vouch for another candidate.

Spanish ANN has been updated with the latest corrections.

At same time, Romanian ANN has also been updated with latest corrections.

At same time, I strongly recommend to remove gagux123 from translators list as he is simply unable to perform translations. He translated one of my topics on May 2nd but he simply made a mess from that translation. Multiple Portuguese users pointed him out severe mistakes he did regarding the content itself.

I, on my side, sent him a PM on May 2nd, pointing him out some other errors he made, related to text formatting, which was not following the original content. He replied after 2 weeks saying he is sorry and that he fixed all errors. 90% of the errors I sent him were still there. He sent then another PM, saying he will make all fixes needed. He contacted me once more, saying he fixed everything -- and, again, another lie.

This user is either unable to make translations or he is simply not giving a dam about his work. This is totally unacceptable!

Following the formatting of the original content and making a correct translation is a sign of respect for the author, first of all, and also for your work. If someone reads a mess of a translation he may believe that the author also wrote a mess and the translator only translated the mess of the author.

Furthermore, replying once in 2 weeks is also totally unacceptable! If there is a client which buys translations in multiple languages, including Portuguese; then if gagux123 makes a mess of that translation, the client will simply not buy it and he will be disappointed. He may also make bad public comments for the entire group (and it would be totally understandable!!!), affecting AOBT's reputation as a whole. Furthermore, if the client would contact him and tell him what errors to fix and gagux123 will reply after 2-3 weeks saying he fixed everything while, in fact, he did not do it -- how would that client feel?!

I've also had some interactions in the past with gagux123 and each time he replied after 2-3 weeks.

He is not serious, not reliable and also unable to perform translations. I recommend his elimination from the group and, if anybody interested in buying translations in Portuguese sees this post -- avoid dealing with this user!

Thank you for your translations.

Thank you for your update joker_josue and congratulations for the new additions to the service and the successful reception from the Bitcointalk community: I will create a brand new account in TalkImg.com in the next few days, with the newly increased bandwidth and space, so my images will never again be unavailable in the forum and I'll be able to say goodbye to our old friend:

Thank you for accepting me into the gang!

I found a translation into Russian from the tasks Translations IN PROGRESS:

Governs are coming for traders!
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5451225

I don't see any interesting articles to translate into Russian yet, but you can send me a private message if you need my help.

Thank you for notifying that zasad@. I've added a link to the translation in our List of Translations IN PROGRESS:

Ok, so the OP has been updated and cygan has now the German translator status too. Please, coordinate yourselves so you don't translate the same topic twice in vain.

Thank you, a very good decision with cygan. We will definitely manage that the three of us from the German language area will coordinate so that not several work on the same translation. (I think we will do this via community PM "Buchi-88, cygan and 1miau" if someone has found something and wants to translate it or if there is little time if someone else wants to do it). So have all a new great week.

As you said before, the ultimate beneficiary of this is the forum. It's good to see such good vibes in your local board Smiley.

The same, have all a great week.

Although there are still some languages remaining in the list of Translations IN PROGRESS, as two weeks have passed since Peanutswar proposed the last topic, anyone can make proposals of new threads to be translated.

of course i would be happy to do the german translations if 1miau or Buchi-88 don't have time. you just have to talk to each other and you could also coordinate who wants to translate which topic.
there is also the option of 'reservations' where you can reserve/block a certain topic for yourself and then translate it in the next days/weeks
and as Buchi-88 already mentioned, the three of us would have least objection if one of us would translate something
btw 1miau would first have to apply here at the very great initiative Wink
