"Bangla" is our mother language, we speak in "Bangla" and "Bengali" is who we are, the people. I hope this clears the confusion.

Thank you for your input, DS. This brings some light about this subject, with which I am not accustomed (perhaps similar to other users as well). So okay, I understand that the term "Banlga" is the correct one (and this is the one stated in OP as well). But we also need to know if the ticker "[BEN]" is correct or if we should use "[BAN]".

Perhaps you or Learn Bitcoin can clear this as well? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for adding the translation to OP, Porf! But I think its ticker should be [BEN] instead of [BAN]. At same time, I think the term "Bangla" from OP should be replaced with "Bengali" (maybe Learn Bitcoin can confirm that).
Besides, since our friend which )

Besides, since our friend which boughtorwantedtobuyhissecond7bedroomsvillawithbtctoo changed his name to paid2, maybe you can update his name also in OP?

And I spotted one missing translation from a topic which is flagged as finished: Italian translation for Pizza baking contest topic.

I also compiled below a list with what translations are needed for our remaining topics in progress.

So there is a maximum of 47 translations which can come out from the above topics, in case they will be translated in all remaining languages. 47 translations - that's a lot! Perhaps we can wait a bit more before proposing other topics and pushing a bit on these remaining translations? (I didn't include above Greek language since, as far as I know, BlackHatCoiner stated from the beginning he does not have time for doing free translations.)

People will learn the same things (so basically how to run cgminer and use a BTC pool/solo pool) with a Bitaxe, or a Gekkoscience product. But at least, you will have a chance so submit a share able to find a block, at least you will have a "BTC solo loterie". Why would we use a x kh/s miner not able to submit shares to most of the pools? It is like mining BTC with a CPU, no one would do that in 2024. Nerdminers aren't cheap if we compare with Bitaxe. I prefer to spend some sats to buy a product from sidehack (gekkoscience) or to skot (bitaxe), at least they are working on something useful for home miners and hobby miners, useful for the BTC community.  Smiley

I have to admit that I'm a total noob when it comes to mining, but your explanation above makes a lot of sense as far as I understand. Given that there are similar (even better?) projects out there and that we're not able to translate everything, it seems a good idea to focus in other topics.

Of course, if anyone wants to reply to paid2 and share a different take on nerdminer, it's Ok.

I not, will try to find and propose a topic myself before Sunday. If other AOBT-ers make different proposals in the meantime, we'll choose the best one.

Oh, and don't forget to vote the Bitcointalk Community Awards while there is time!

Back on the nerdminer thing, as long as it seems to be non-profit, can you elaborate on your reasons for not translate it paid2? I've only skimmed the topic but it seems (at first glance) that it is a small community project.

Yeah I have nothing against the project itself, but it is totally useless to make people buy / run a nerdminer. I solo mine with all kind of ASICs, so I understand the goal of the project and don't talk about "profit". But even from a mining perspective, they are useless, almost no pool will accept them as they will use a lot of ressources for producing almost no work. I am not the only one saying this. You can read what ck (which is the co-dev of cgminer and who runs solo.ckpool, probably the most legit guy when we talk of solo mining imo) said about them:

Nerdminers are toys and not meaningful miners, and their hashrate is so ridiculously low that the pool will never register a hashrate for them.

I think that we could ask to kano, mikey, philipma, or any miner other here, all of them would agree with the above statement.

Hey Porfirii

I just finished my translation of this topic in Bangla. Can you add it to the OP? Sorry for the delay. For some reasons, I didn't get the notification when you mentioned us earlier about the translation.

Cheers now it's 11 language. Smiley

Thanks Porfirii. dansus021 will process the translation into Indonesian, and when it is complete, the link will be provided.

Thank you Husna and dansus021 Smiley

Now the topic has been translated into 10 languages and published in the respective local boards, so I'm moving it to the list of finished translations.

We can now discuss about new proposals. Ideally there should be unanimity about the topic we finally choose, or at most little solvable objections.

Edit: I finally voted ^^

The thing is that some of these topics, has already been translated to my local language by other users. For instance this one Dere are 2^256 private keys out dere: hw big is dat numba?

I was not aware of the existence of that topic, but it's good you found it Smiley Now it's added to OP.

The other topic as you mentioned by Husna, I might consider starting that and probably before the year runs out I will be done and drop them all at once and I may also have to work with some of my local board translators if need be.

Husna's topic is huge indeed, but it won't take a year to translate it Smiley I suggest you to start working on it, in small steps and, eventually, in a few days you'll finish it. It is very long, but not impossible to do it. Besides, if you'll do it, you'll be one of only 4 people which ever translated it (excepting Husna himself). At same time, why look for another long topic (meaning the one suggested by you earlier) since there is still material to work on for Pidgin language? Makes sense? Smiley

Lastly, I have already started working on this topics Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards

And I see you already finished! Congrats!

. I will send a notice to those translators who have unfinished works and look for a solution in the case any of them is not available anymore.

Hello @ porfirii, I just finished my Translated pidgin version of this campaign thread  Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards by 1miau.

Added, thank you Hatchy Smiley

About the topic [Voting 2023] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆, there are only two weeks remaining (and I haven't voted yet! Embarrassed) so, if any of the translators of any of the missing languages is available (mindrust, Husna QA or dansus021, Baofeng, Yatsan or Peanutswar, Kavelj22, amishmanish, paid2, Learn Bitcoin or DYING S0UL) please, take a moment to share your translation(s) in your local board(s).

OP was updated with the most relevant changes and Russian translation of Husna's thread deleted from the list. -snip-

Thanks, Porfirii. Some time ago, I also saw that Ratimov deleted many of his posts, including the translation (in Russian) of my thread [Education] Bitcoin Privacy and Anonymity.

Please for other AoBT friends from Russia if you want to retranslate the topic to share information for Bitcointalk friends there.

OP was updated with the most relevant changes and Russian translation of Husna's thread deleted from the list.

No need to update the translations of the ANN in local boards since I'll have to update it again soon with the current stats for every member.

Let's put the proposal of new translations on hold until we finish at least one more from the list. About these unfinished translations, the remaining languages usually repeat. I will send a notice to those translators who have unfinished works and look for a solution in the case any of them is not available anymore.

Dear Hatchy, if you are idle you can find some topics in the list above that are yet to be translated into Pidgin.

In the list with translations in progress there are 3 of them not done yet in Pidgin so he can choose from there
The thing is that some of these topics, has already been translated to my local language by other users. For instance this one Dere are 2^256 private keys out dere: hw big is dat numba? I had taught of translating and upon creation of this thread, [ NAIJA BOARD PIDGIN TRANLATIONS ] where I had organised all translated topics in my local board, I found out that it has already been translated, so with some other threads too. For these reasons, I can't recreate any other translation of same topic as it's consider spamming and not a good behavior.

The other topic as you mentioned by Husna, I might consider starting that and probably before the year runs out I will be done and drop them all at once and I may also have to work with some of my local board translators if need be.

Lastly, I have already started working on this topics Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards pidgin translation by 1miau since last year December. And since it requires looking for materials in my local board and language its a bit elusive and I intend on taking my time to research more materials. I might be done before the end of this month or earlier.

I just suggested the other topic, Incase we might be less busy and have it added to our new translations.

About the proposal itself, although the topic is for fun as Hatchy said, I also think that it is educative and, coming from fillippone, I have no objection, but let's see what other members think.

One more thing about this -- I actually started working on this thread today, as I had it on my "to do list" since last year, as I wrote above. What I wanted to add is that the topic is not short at all and it took me some good hours to finish half of it. I'll spend more hours to finish it completely. And, since we have issues with translating even short topics (we can take a look at fillippone's topic about 2^256 private keys, for example, which does not have 10 translations even now, although it was added a long time ago), adding a long topic to the list will make it remain there forever (like Husna's topic, for example, which barely has 3 translations now, after almost one year).

Dear Hatchy, if you are idle you can find some topics in the list above that are yet to be translated into Pidgin.

In the list with translations in progress there are 3 of them not done yet in Pidgin so he can choose from there.

Regarding Husna's topic, one was done by Ratimov -- Porf, you can delete it from the list, since the translation was deleted.

the following thread: [Voting 2023] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 was translated into polish by me today and can be viewed here:

[Głosowanie 2023] Nagrody społeczności Bitcointalk 🏆

Thank you cygan! it has been translated into 9 languages so far. Only one left to go Smiley

I found this pretty interesting topic by @ fillippone NERDMINER: Bitcoin lottery miners. [...] maybe @ porfirii can add it to list of translations

I have basically nothing against a new translation (I actually had that topic on a personal "to-do list", but didn't have time for it yet). But my main concern here is the fact that there are still 6 pending translations (some for a long time already)... Since we don't finish those ones, adding one more would only do no good but overwhelm the translators even more...

I agree that we should finish at least one more translation that are in progress before adding a new one. Fortunately, those corresponding to the topic Bitcointalk Community Awards will be finished soon.

About the proposal itself, although the topic is for fun as Hatchy said, I also think that it is educative and, coming from fillippone, I have no objection, but let's see what other members think. Anyway, as Gazeta recommended, and was said before, let's finish one of the translations in progress before adding it to the list.

Well good day @ AOBT gang Smiley hope you guys are doing well. It seems we might be less busy lately(haven't done any translation in 2024). -snip-
