We've now two more translations in progress:

Hey Porf, thank you for this update!
I have a small request, if possible: are you so kind, please, to add the Romanian translation for fillippone's topic? I made that translation a while ago so it can be listed already. The translation can be found here.

Dear AoBTers,

We've now two more translations in progress:

Please, note that fillippone has very clear rules that must be followed even before we start translating, so please, read the message in red in order to know how to proceed before doing anything.

On the other hand, I'm really happy about the second edition of RickDeckard's pie baking contest. There is almost an entire month left to participate, but the sooner we translate it the more people will find it out and will be able to participate, so, if you have not much time in the next weeks, prioritize this task.

Keep up! Wink

If nobody expresses any objection in the next couple of days, let's add both topics to the list of translations in progress.
That's a nice idea, I took part in last year's Bitcoin pizza contest and it was an amazing experience. I will be free this weekend and see to it that i'm able to finish the translation before next week Grin let the baking contest begin Grin

Excepting the topic proposed by Porf, I would like to add a new proposal Smiley

RickDeckard just announced that he launched the second edition of pie baking contest! Since we translated the topic of first iteration of this contest, I thought that it would be nice to translate this topic as well, as it is a very nice contest and I am sure that it will gather many participants, just like year.

Great proposal indeed, and I'm happy to see that this year there will be a new edition of the contest. My last year's pumpkin pie was a bit horrible (diabetic relatives = no sugar) so I hope to make a tastier one this year.

If nobody expresses any objection in the next couple of days, let's add both topics to the list of translations in progress.
Thank you for spreading awareness Gazeta. Likewise I invite every translator to take part in the contest as the final result, no matter the outcome, is always great - you get to eat your pie  Cool.

Well, back @ home  Wink

You should come south my friend Cheesy Wink Spain is a good place for tourism, even in winter.

Yeah you're right, I am already sure that my next winter won't be in Bulgaria lol  Grin
Spain is on top of my "must go" list! Cannot wait to come again, as I only saw the Costa Brava and Madrid for now!

You are right, that would be among our most difficult translations to date, but nothing comparable to Husna QA's topic's difficulty, not only in length (more than 7,300 words vs less than 2,900) but also in BBCode complexity and technical vocabulary.

In addition, I think that it is an interesting document to translate because it gives a new perspective which is not the one we usually read in mass media and, thus, it would encourage critical thinking about this matter also in local boards.

Finally, it definitely would've been a bad idea if we'd proposed this topic when our list was full of pending translations, but as we've almost cleared the translations in progress, IMO this is the perfect moment to take on a challenge like this one.

But, as always, and that's how it should be, the final decision is yours guys. Please, share your thoughts and feel free to make new proposals in the case you don't find appropriate the one discussed one.

I am ok doing this translation to FR, but I will need more or less 1/2 month(s) to make it, as I have other pending translations (1miau's topics)

About the proposed topic, (Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument), the author already agreed that the Alliance can translate it (if we want), as long as we follow the classical rule in READ BEFORE TRANSLATING!!!:

Everyone who is going to translate any topic should make an announcement on this thread beforehand to avoid any confusion. As a fist step everyone should check the OP and previous announcements to check in how many languages the article have been already translated or it is going to be translated. Doing translation is a complex, time consuming and requires a considerable effort. Doing the same translation means double work and I hate the double work.

-snip-

2. The topic you proposed is a quite long one, and not easy to translate, as it requires much time... And, seeing how few translations Husna's topic got so far, I believe a similar long topic will have same result... Okay, this one is not as big as Husna's, but I translated it and I know it requires a lot of time for translating it... And this is said by someone which is very used with doing translations (myself). So while it won't be an easy job even for you, and you also have a very good skill at doing translations, imagine how difficult it would be for other users, which do not have enough time or which are less experienced...

Hey Hatchy,

I already talked with fillippone about that this morning, but I'm enjoying a beautiful, sunny Sunday, so I haven't had much time to post his reply here yet.

I'll post about it in a few hours when I arrive at home in the afternoon, plus some other ideas suggested by Gazeta via PM.

I recommend you all do the same and enjoy this beautiful day outdoors (weather permitting), far from screens Cheesy

Wow so many discussions and finished Translations lately. I've been so busy and always wanted to join in on the conversation but did have much to say. Well it's a good thing we have been able to complete some of the unfinished Translation thanks to AOBT members and in all, thanks to GazetaBitcoin, who has been doing a great job in compiling a list of unfinished Translation. I also want to use this opportunity to welcome our new members. It's great to see more gang members from other local board.

Please, Mr. fillippone, let us know if you agree that we help you with the missing translations.

As for this, I will recommend that @Porfirii who is the head of the gang make this announcement on @fillipones thread here Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board I'm not sure he uses the telegram bot so thats why he hasn't been notified of the mention on this request. I would have suggested pm but he strictly said not to pm him about Translations. But since it's a gang thing I guess you as our head or @ GazetaBitcoin can pm him later.

It will be 11 translations, because tomorrow I will translate it into Spanish. Short but interesting topic, easy to translate, finished in record time, congratulations to everyone!

This is great news, Porf!

Because we have only two translations in progress, and one of them will be finished very soon, I'd like to propose that we include in our list fillippone's topic: Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument, with his permission, which was already translated into Romanian by Gazeta and also into Pidgin by Chilwell.

Please, Mr. fillippone, let us know if you agree that we help you with the missing translations.

Porf, I will add 2 things about this topic, if I may:
1. For booking a topic of fillippone, this should be done is his topic, as he announced some new rules there.

Other than that, I also wanted to let Porf know that for this topic -- Trade vs. HODL - avoid traps -- an Urdu translation also exists, so maybe this one can be added to OP too, although the topic is finished.

I have translated this topic in my local language Urdu. And already posted in my local community thread. I submitted my application in OP and 1miau approved my application. But at this time Gazeta is approving the 1miau's posts. So he asked me to post here my translation. I already put it for approval in the OP and waiting for the approval from 1miau.

Thank you for this effort, ThemePen!
I confirm, I gave the approval to ThemePen for this translation and I consider it suitable Smiley When 1miau will return he will add it to OP.

Hi GazetaBitcoin ! [...]

Are there any restrictions/conditions/... ?
Although most of them are already marked as "finished", I think that it is always positive to keep translating them into different languages so more people have access to them.

The only restrictions would be the topics written by 1miau, who is very demanding with the quality of his translations. In these cases, Gazeta will tell.

About special conditions, please, read the notes in red (READ BEFORE TRANSLATING!!!) before translating some topics, like in "5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin", because they need some special adaptations.

DrBeer, please read Porf's input first. Excepting what Porf said, I will suggest the following: in my perspective, you should first focus on the topics from "In Progress" section. If all topics there are translated in your language, you can pick other ones which are already finished, if you want. At the moment there are only 2 topics at "In Progress" section. 1miau's topic already has 10 (actually 11) translations already done or in progress (and we consider a topic as finished once it has 10 translations made for it). If you want, you could try working on Husna's topic ([Education] Bitcoin Privacy and Anonymity), although it will take you a long while to finish it. Of course, this will be up to you. But it would really help to get some more translations for Husna's topic though. All other topics are already finished thus it would be nice to have one more translation for Husna's topic. But, I repeat, it's up to you. And in case you will translate any of 1miau's topics please send me a preview before publishing it and wait for my approval. I hope this helps Smiley

1miau's topic Important to know: Difference Coin / Token and shady marketing practices is now available in Spanish here.

Hi GazetaBitcoin !

I reread the latest articles, chose those that I can translate into Ukrainian quickly enough:
- Why people should be using SegWit addresses
- Trade vs. HODL - avoid traps
- Important to know Difference Coin Token and shady marketing practices
- Governs are coming for traders!
- 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin

+ this article is very interesting but needs more time - [Education] Bitcoin Privacy and Anonymity
