Yesterday gagux123 wrote to me and told me the following:

Please, take it into account, because he was worried about this issue after the PM I sent to you last weekend.

I have updated the OP with the three translations. After the update, there is only one translation left for fillippone's "2^256 private keys". Keep up!

Small recap for the FR section

And I thank you for your thorough reply.

Still "work in progress" for now, sorry I am over busy IRL actually

Yup, I know you are working on this one for a long time now...

That's great, thank you for the heads-up!

As discussed with other people in AOBT topic, I think we don't need this one in FR section (which is an excellent news  Grin)

Indeed, excellent news Smiley

I think this one was translated before I joined AOBT, by a member external to AOBT gang. I will try to find the topic soon and post the link here.

If you can find that link it would be great.

I am afraid that I won't be able to translate two posts due to limited knowledge. The post by Husna QA and fillippone has some technical explanations that should be translated by understanding it first. I believe, it won't be a good practice to translate something that I do not understand.

This is true, Learn Bitcoin. There are still 3 other topics though, which can be translated in your language. Perhaps you can talk with DS as well and split the work... (Of course, if you have time.)

Thank you paid2, your translation was added to the list. Don't worry about the deadline, you're doing it right Smiley

Learn Bitcoin, It requires humility and strength to admit one's limitations. Take your time and ask for help whenever you need it. The same applies to you: don't worry about the deadline, these topics are hard to translate and take time.

AOBT-ers: as you should've noticed, yesterday I sent an important PM to you. Please, those mentioned in it don't forget to reply before the end of the week. Keep up!

I also compiled below a list with what translations are needed for our remaining topics in progress.

Oh dear. I was on my mobile at the time you posted it and I saw that. I missed that last part for some reason. I will have a chat with DS soon and we will start working on those translations. But, I am afraid that I won't be able to translate two posts due to limited knowledge. I've just updated the OP with the latest stats. BTW, paid2 hasn't just changed his name, but also earned an astonishing amount of merits since the last time we updated it, so special thanks for your valuable contributions to the forum.

Thank you for the kinds words Porfirii  Smiley
I hope we'll continue on this good path and the forum to continue to be successful globally!

Thank you Gazeta for the reminder, it looks necessary indeed!  Shocked
Small recap for the FR section:

    • [Education] Bitcoin Privacy and Anonymity by Husna QA and DoomieChikito: [POL] [RUS] [FRE] [TUR] [ITA] [FIL] [ARA] [HIN] [POR] [PID] [BEN] - so this should be in attention of cygan, zasad@, LeGaulois / paid2, mindrust, Ale88, Baofeng / Yatsan, Kavelj22, amishmanish, gagux123, Hatchy, Learn Bitcoin / DYING_S0UL

I have translated this topic already:  Il y a 2^256 clés privées : de quel ordre de grandeur est ce nombre ?

As discussed with other people in AOBT topic, I think we don't need this one in FR section (which is an excellent news  Grin)

Still, there are 47 translations pending thus, if we could make some more of them, it would be very good.

We have been working for several months and I think that it is quite clear which members are committed with our mission and which are not so much. I get that people have their lives (me the first) and sometimes it is difficult to reconcile family and work with this extra effort, but we are here voluntarily and a little translation per month shouldn't be such an insurmountable sacrifice. Let's send a heads up to these members who are not delivering in time.

If context changed or you think that it is still helpful to spread the info about the script, we can always move it back to the other list until we get at least the 10 translations; otherwise, we'd better focus on new interesting topics.

Oh, I understand. I forgot about that post. I am not sure though about Imgur pictures still working, so I thought it can be helpful. Nevertheless, I remember now that we had a good reason to stop translating that topic. We can leave it in the "Finished" list. Still, there are 47 translations pending thus, if we could make some more of them, it would be very good.

I was thinking about one more thing. Since we decided at some point to consider a topic as finished once there are 10 translations done, in 10 different languages, I think we can move a topic from "Finished" to "In progress":

    -snip-

Mmmm I'm not sure about it. We moved there as an answer to an old post from Russian mod Xal0lex.

    So many things Cheesy

    Yes, true...

    [...]

    Thank you, Porf!

I was thinking about one more thing. Since we decided at some point to consider a topic as finished once there are 10 translations done, in 10 different languages, I think we can move a topic from "Finished" to "In progress":

This topic has only 6 translations. All the ones below it have at least 10 and the only other 2 topics flagged as finished with less than 10 transations are the ones about pizza and pie baking contests. Obviously, since those contests are finished there is no need to translate those topics anymore. But perhaps this one about TryNinja's script may receive a few more translations, in order to have at least 10?

Thanks for adding the translation to OP, Porf! But I think -snip-

    So many things Cheesy

    - Italian translation of the pizza contest was added to the list.
    - All links to Bangla translations have now the ticker: [BAN].
    - The image from the guy who also wanted to buy a mansion with Bitcoin will have to wait a little bit, since I must edit the image in Pages and upload it to GitHub, and I can only do it at home. Since most AOBT-ers' stats are outdated, I will do the same for everyone, but it will take me some time so I'll do it in the next couple of days.
    - This weekend Gazeta and I will also check the initial applications and talk to those members who committed to translate at least once a month but who are not delivering, and try to find a solution.

I guess we should be okay with Bengali as well.

Thank you for this thorough answer, Learn Bitcoin. Again, I learned something new.
Okay, in this case it seems there's nothing to update in my topic. We just need Porf to update OP with adding "[BAN]" ticker instead of "[BEN]".

Thank you for clarifying this aspect, Learn Bitcoin. We learned something new today. I was not aware of the correct usage of this ticker. For some reason I always thought that "[BEN]" is the appropriate one. In any case, things are clear now. In this case I will kindly ask Porf to update "[BEN]" to "[BAN]" wherever this ticker was used in second post of the topic.

And, having that in mind, I would also want to know if the term "Bengali" is correct. I am asking this in case I should also make an update for my topic of translations.

Okay, I am back home now. Dear Gazeta, you weren't wrong. We the local people always use Bangla and Bangali when we refer to us. But, English speakers identify us as Bengali. So, Bengali is also widely used to refer to the Bangla language. It's just like Indians call themself Bharati and their country India is also called Bharat. Both terms are correct.

Now, Here both Bengali and Bangla can be considered correct because English speakers always identify us as Bengali while we locals call us Bangali. Bengali is nationality and Bangla is the language. Just like England is the country and English is the language. I guess we should be okay with Bengali as well.

When it comes to the ticker, we should use either BAN or BN. BN is also used to refer Bangla language.

Perhaps you or Learn Bitcoin can clear this as well? Thank you in advance.

Hi. I am not home at this moment, writing from my phone at this moment.
Bangla is the term we Bengali people use for language. Even though people call us Bengali, the correct one is Bangla. When it comes to the ticker, we should use either BAN or BN. BN is also used to refer Bangla language.

"Bangla" is our mother language, we speak in "Bangla" and "Bengali" is who we are, the people. I hope this clears the confusion.

Thank you for your input, DS. This brings some light about this subject, with which I am not accustomed (perhaps similar to other users as well). So okay, I understand that the term "Banlga" is the correct one (and this is the one stated in OP as well). But we also need to know if the ticker "[BEN]" is correct or if we should use "[BAN]".

Perhaps you or Learn Bitcoin can clear this as well? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for adding the translation to OP, Porf! But I think its ticker should be [BEN] instead of [BAN]. At same time, I think the term "Bangla" from OP should be replaced with "Bengali" (maybe Learn Bitcoin can confirm that).
Besides, since our friend which )

And I spotted one missing translation from a topic which is flagged as finished: Italian translation for Pizza baking contest topic.

I also compiled below a list with what translations are needed for our remaining topics in progress.

So there is a maximum of 47 translations which can come out from the above topics, in case they will be translated in all remaining languages. 47 translations - that's a lot! Perhaps we can wait a bit more before proposing other topics and pushing a bit on these remaining translations? (I didn't include above Greek language since, as far as I know, BlackHatCoiner stated from the beginning he does not have time for doing free translations.)
