I do think that adding Chinese would be beneficial for this service. Try to get a Chinese writer and translator.

Thank you CryptoHFs, we are indeed looking for a professional Chinese translator. I'm in touch with Wei H (coincidentally, he wrote to me two days ago), but he is not so active lately so we keep looking for one.

iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 has just been added to our OP as our 1st French back-up translator. Welcome aboard!! I had to resize typography so your nickname fit in the square Cheesy

And we have now a new translation IN PROCESS: There are 2^256 private keys out there: how big is that number? by fillippone. This new one is not as hard as the last one, and it is quite short, so I encourage all AOBTers to do their best and help spread this interesting info in the corresponding local boards for those who only browse there or aren't fluid in English.

another interesting topic by fillippone was translated into polish by me a few days ago and can now be read and discussed by polish forum users:

original: There are 2^256 private keys out there: how big is that number?

It is, indeed, a very interesting topic. I decided to translate it after it got some attention, after nullius wrongfully attacked fillippone for the ideas expressed in that topic. Although nullius has a lot of expertise in cryptography, this attack to fillippone was certainly a wrong one... So this determined me in translating this topic then kindly asking him to add it also to the list of topics he wants to be translated in other languages.

it may be a good idea to add this one too to our list, don't you think?

I share same feeling here, for 2 reasons: (1) the topic contains a very interesting material; (2) having it translated in more languages would be another sign that the attack headed to fillippone should not have been made...

Also, this weekend I'll update the OP so we can officially welcome iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 Smiley

Yay!

i can only speak about my two local boards (in which i am active), how important the translations are.
i can see very well that through these translations new discussions and new input arise, which of course makes me very happy to have done these translations.
and i think that it is the same on the other local boards and i am looking forward to more interesting topics that will be forwarded to our compatriots. Smiley

original: There are 2^256 private keys out there: how big is that number?
polish: Istnieje 2^256 kluczy prywatnych: jak duża jest ta liczba?

Thank you cygan! that topic was also translated into Russian and Romanian by zasad@ and Gazeta, and I translated it myself into Spanish last week. Although the last proposal was to translate another thread by fillippone, it may be a good idea to add this one too to our list, don't you think?

If no other proposal is made during the weekend, I will add it to the list of ongoing translations.

Also, this weekend I'll update the OP so we can officially welcome iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 Smiley

While I'm looking for a new campaign I will wear this one. Also when I will be in between campaigns in the future.

Nice job and hopefully it does it's job and promote this service well!

Much appreciated AHOYBRAUSE! you can say that you were the first user to wear it Smiley

I am supporting the application of the user "looking for buying a second palace with BTC" Smiley He already obtained the merit threshold for Hero rank with months before his activity will allow him and he is also a very good translator. He translated 5 of my topics in a very short amount of time, including 2 of the most difficult topics I have, and now he intends to translate also 10 more topics of mine.

He did a great job and I am sure he would be a great addition to AOBT gang Smiley

I'm also vouching for him. If no member of the gang has any objection we can name him our new French backup translator and closely follow his evolution. Thank you for your interest iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2.

BTW, it is already 3 weeks since I proposed the last topic to be translated, so it seems like a good time to propose a new one. Everyone can comment, AOBTer or not, so feel free to make your proposals!

I would also commit to this idea and I will also translate jayce's writings in Romanian, if he needs it, when he needs it! So you can count on me as well Smiley

Great! thank you Gazeta Smiley

In that sense, I'm pleased to announce that our beautiful signature is almost ready! (thank you jayce!). Dear AOBTers, check your inbox and you'll be able to see it. Please, make your suggestions within 48 hours from now (via DM) if you want to add or change anything, or shut up forever...

On the other hand, I have received an offer to make a paid translation, but it looks quite shady to me and some other members agree that there are several red flags that recommend not to continue with the conversation. I have sent the conversation to all of you. Please, check it too.

I'm pleased to announce that our friend jayce has confirmed that he will start working soon on a beautiful signature for our team. And he will do it for free!

This is great news! Thank you jayce for this kind gesture! And great job Porf, for contacting him! Hooray!

As a gesture of my gratitude I'm willing to translate for him some texts into Spanish for free when needed, and I'm sure that other members will be grateful too. On the other hand, jayce, feel free to propose any topic that you think is positive to translate for the local communities as well whenever you want.

I would also commit to this idea and I will also translate jayce's writings in Romanian, if he needs it, when he needs it! So you can count on me as well Smiley

Please, note that the goal with this topic is to share basic knowledge about Bitcoin in our respective native languages, so I hope that among all of you can complete the list with links to the best sources of information in Russian Smiley

Hi @Porfirii Im interested to translate Fillippone thread about this 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin Should I make a reserve post here or do I need to Dm the fillippone first

Dansus021

Hey Dansus021, thank you for your willingness!

Although I am not aware that it is translated or reserved in Indonesian, I think it is best that you make a reserve post in his thread directly: Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board to avoid misunderstandings and overlapping with another member.

As said above, please, take your time to research which sources of information may be most useful in your language to make your work as helpful as possible. And don't forget to post here or send me a DM when you finish, so I can update the list with a link to your translation Wink

do you know how much a good design can cost? If it is not too expensive I'm willing to pay it out of my pocket; otherwise, would any of you be willing to share the expenses?

I believe we could ask jayce about this...

Mmmm, I already thought about him because he is the most famous here, but as he is not the only designer in the forum and I don't have the pleasure of meeting him I preferred to know your opinion.

If you know him and if he would be your choice I will contact him in private so he is not forced to disclose his prices in public as this may be too personal. Thanks Gazeta Smiley

At same time, I noticed that our topic is translated only in Indonesian, Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese, German, Filipino and Russian. Perhaps the other translators could translate it in other languages? I mean in Greek, Polish, French, Turkish, Italian, Arabic, Hindi and Portuguese.

Not only our topic but there are still several languages missing from ongoing translations. I was planning to send a friendly reminder via PM to all the translators this weekend without fail, but please do it yourself if you feel like it.

Buchi-88, please, notice that fillippone asked to announce the reservation in his thread. I'm not sure if that applies to us too, but I posted mine there yesterday, just in case, to avoid the possibility of duplicating tasks.

I finished the translation today and also posted it in fillippone's thread. All that's missing is my proof reading and it's complete.

5 Mittel, um Otto Normalverbraucher über Bitcoin zu informieren

Thank you Buchi-88, I have just updated the list with a link to your translation.

fillippone's idea for this topic was not to make a literal translation but to search for sources of information in our own native languages and adapt it, so it was indeed a bit tricky and maybe too difficult to be one of our first proposals, but I hope that with the contributions of other participants in the German board you can collect such sources, apart from the original ones in English.
