This is an old game - people use to do this for. entertainment when there was no internet. The owner used to give good food and exceptionally great care to their pets. I personally know many cock fighting trainers who say our diet does not matter but the cock fight does.
But this is very inhumane - although the game is dying but still there are many cockfight lovers around.

They took cake of those animal simply because they have to win the game and in order to do that they should be on a good condition. Seriously, I’m just thinking how come this become inhumane while we as a human eats animal as well especially those Chicken. Anyway, since this is gambling maybe that’s the reason why it became inhumane and of course I’ll support the call to stop this because of gambling result.

I think the chicken that we saw in the market (the one that we eat) and the chicken that we saw on cock fights are not the same breed. Gamblers don't like cock fighting for that reason you mentioned and if they want to sell a chicken at the market then why can they just buy a different kind of chicken, the one that is easy and inexpensive to raise. People can kill a chicken for selling and eating purposes.

It's a common thing so it's not that painful when compared to other animals that aren't destined for this purposes but it is still in human to use animals in gambling. Poor animals didn't know that they are only being used by humans for entertainment. Much better if the animals were killed immediately than let them suffer that way.

They are not the same chicken bro but they are the same breed. All market chickens can be both Hen and Rooster. It's their capability to lay eggs that differs. AND HUGE NO. Cockfighters would never just sell their chickens after a loss. They either make them more better for the future fight, or just serve it to their family for dinner.

I just don't think how animal cruelty is something you guys consider in gambling yet UFC and BOxing that can KILL people BY ACCIDENT OR INTENTIONAL are those you've been enjoying. Imagine if chickens or even any animals can have popularity because of their FAME in FIGHTING other animals, would you still feel the same remorse? I'm an ANTI animal cruelty. But there are some instances that we make such things more weirder.

If thats the case if a newly President would be elected then expect that this bill or law would neither be changed or would really be pushed through and since leaders would really be having different input or perception

on things about online betting with cockfighting.It might be a bad news for some but in general aspect it was a good gesture since the current leader is really trying to protect its citizens on possible or severe

Tax matters? Depends on how much they've been generating through this but its really hard when you are putting the citizens on risk.

You got it right, it's more than a tradition I say. A lot of people here in the Philippines fond of having cockfighting roosters in their backyards, even at a young age you can see the fondness of it. Neighborhood cockfights, "tupada", derby tournament, you name it, they love these kind of stuffs. Not to get far, even my father is on that list though he regularly do it anymore unlike before.

I am not a resident of the Philippines, but I have read a lot about the country and the mores of the local population. And in my opinion cockfighting cannot be eradicated from their traditional entertainment. Even if the government bans online cockfighting, it will move to the back of the neighborhoods where the authorities simply can't get into. In my opinion, it's a battle against windmills.

They only ban the online version of the game since many Filipino got addicted and wasted there life due to easy access gambling but the IRL version of this cock fight is still legal and has no movement to stop it since it provide huge tax in our country. Animal fighting becomes more entertaining nowadays, I know its very unhuman but still the government allows it simply because they generates profit from them and they even regulate this so they can monitor and collect the right taxes which is their main concern and not actually the health of those animals. Well, if you're looking for a more entertainment best then go for the sports, cockfighting or horse racing are more cruel and many people already condemned this kind of gambling.

apparently a lot of people, especially those who grew up watching it. as a kid, I have been exposed to cock fighting a lot and I never really liked the fight to the death match. though I would have loved to grow my own rooster.

Not only with the rooster fighting I think gambling addiction is spread throughout the world. I see many of my friends slowly destroying their lives because of gambling but we can't banned gamblings even if they banned rooster fighting they can just switch with other gambling such as horse racing, sports betting and many more.
