Because of the continuous operation in the underground, there's corruption from authorities and these operators will pay people to protect them, what is grease or protection money if they will rake a lot of profit.

As you can see, the person behind the online sabao is really rich. There are allegations, as you can see from the news, that there are 24 people missing because of this. Running it underground is really easy for them. They have the money and the power because the owners of this are politicians and powerful people. But still, they shouldnt be very known to others that they are running this again. You know it will be stopped later, but still they can continue it. So far from now, I haven't seen any operation from them. I think they will just cool it off right now.

It really exists, but better not try it because if you get hooked, you might be addicted to it and face the problem later. It's banned for a reason, the government sees that the addiction rate has increased due to online sabong, so if you will still persist in gambling despite it's already declared as illegal, you might also be in trouble in the long run.

Actually cockfighting is not totally banned and the one who get stoppage is the famous online betting site which called E-sabong and physical cockfighting still allowed if the owners get a permit and this will be held on proper venue. Although we still have this I think its still ok because not everyone can access easily on physical arena so for sure even if this event is not totally banned for sure we can see the number of gamblers decrease.

In the long run, that would not be sustainable. Most people who are an enthusiast of online sabong wants a convenient way and it seems only a few will patronize that method. The convenience they experienced during the hype of online sabong can't be compared to what methods are left now.

And since that's illegal for now, I doubt more players will still get themselves into it. There are lots of alternatives too today like online bingo in GCASH where the jackpot prize is increasing day by day and really tempting to play. ^ After downloading and depositing Php100 registration fee, they can start betting with cryptocurrencies. Withdrawal would be easy but converting them to fiat would be harder because third party exchanges in the Philippines are highly regulated. I just don't know if these bettors use Binance and other unregistered CEX/Custodial services.

Despite this some isolated cases of illegal gambling. I'm sure that the e-sabong activities will slowly die due to this much hassle process and I doubt that regular e-sabong bettors will manage to undergo on this hassle payment method while there's already live sabong games IRL. Honestly I don't see much difference banning this game while the physical game is still allowed. People that playing online will just go to coliseum and be live and the problem on gambling is still the same. The only difference was they can't bet anytime they want but still they can gamble on same activity and probably on much larger bet due to time constraint.

We cannot for sure if these activities will die slowly in the process because if the people still have some access online and still operate the E-Sabong using some crypto to evade the government then eventually they can find a way that is less hassle to the gambler to convert those cryptocurrencies into fiats. It would take time but seeing that they are continuing it then it will grow for sure and attract more gamblers.

This is the only decent stance you can take towards any sport that involves harm to animals and making two animals fight against each other to the death is especially sadistic. It is so brutal and barbaric that it echos throughout society at large, most civilized societies have outlawed similar blood sports many centuries ago. How anyone could take pleasure or entertainment from seeing animals in such fear is rather sick in the head. You can tell this case is simply about the fact that the Philippine government cannot control the revenue flow from online games that they have banned it, but they still allow in-country fights because they don't care about the animal welfare side one bit.

Nope. they arent banning cockfighting but only banning or blocking into those illegal online betting sites or platforms because it could really be having two
possible reasons.

1. They cant able to tax
2. They are minding about their citizens too much addiction.

This is a good government stance towards the situation but dont expect about 100% precision or totally solving out such problem.

Cock fighting is a big thing here in the Philippines because this is the only gambling platform that people can play whenever they want to play. And cock fighting is the most or famous gambling fight during festival in different barangay or even in town. The government can not have a tax if this illegal gambling will continue and that's the reason why the government pushing to banned this kind of game in the country,.

This is old tradition which been past decades to decades so its really hard for government to stop this since there are so many people gamble this illegally. And this sabong just brought online by a billionaire tycoon in Philippines and try to legalize it, first government look at it as other source of income since economy has been crumpled by covid-19 but since there are studies that this brought negative things to certain individuals then they stop this and this is we can say a good action they take because if they let it operate for much longer years and ignore the risk already shown for sure there will be more lives will be destroyed.
