A sad reality of online streaming that also doubles as a gambling promotion is that it can have unknown consequences with its widespread reach. As it recently came to light, a fan of Adin Ross took his own life. The controversy however was much more than just this fact. The controversy stemmed from the fact that Adin Ross' editor, being completely apathetic to these news of a man taking his own life, called it "old news" in a dismissive tone.

What do you think about this? Do such people deserve a platform even on Kick?

Kick will soon take down these gambling streamers if they keep doing this, they are insensitive to their followers they will not offer sympathy or even condolences if Kick, kick them out on their platform, and they have no platform to stream their live gambling streamers they will soon lose their income.

They are deceptive, in how they promote the gambling platform if you're a newbie you are in danger of getting hooked up on gambling, this is why I don't watch streamers and I don't recommend these streamers.

AFAIK Eddie own the Kick platform which is dedicated for gambling streaming. Additionally, Adin Ross is big streamer partner of Stake which is the Kick platform dedicated to use for gambling streaming. I doubt that they take down their huge asset like Adin but rather(maybe) they will just give him a warning but not to the point of kicking him out.

Most of the streamers have a different jerky attitude like trainwreck and xposed. Eddi like them the way they are because that’s what the viewer like.

Adin Ross is one of the most famous streamers in the world right now, with his content having hundreds of thousands of hours in watch time. Of course much of his content is direct promotion to slots games and such gambling. Perhaps Kick should add some limits to how "controversial" a streamer can be in their platform. People like Ross were banned from twitch after maaany violations.

They should be allowed only if they abide by a code of conduct and use a lot of disclaimers so they are not allowed to speak whatever they want and as such to be impacting people with low self esteem as only people with low self esteem use dramatic measures like taking their own life.

I have never even thought about it and I have been with just 30 cents in my pocket with a family to feed and lots of debt to pay yet I thought whatever happens I will solve this situation.

This was a stupid act and it would be a shame if he did something like this. He should have imitated what he saw on the streamer instead of ending his life because he could no longer control himself in relation to gambling.
It is indeed very worrying that when someone is addicted to gambling, he will experience severe depression when he stops or reduces this behavior and that is truly terrible, not because of the impact of excessive risk in gambling. However, this is real evidence and we can use it as a guide or motivation so that we don't get addicted to gambling like what streamer fans have experienced.

I agree with you, ending one's life is of course a stupid act and in my opinion it is an act that should not be done, if a problem has occurred then we should be able to accept the risk of facing the problem and overcoming the problem is what we have to do, right? by ending one's life because that is an act of irresponsibility. maybe from the start it was wrong, they gambled excessively but were not prepared for the risks until the excessive pressure could not be accepted well, finally the choice they made was to end their life, this case is the same as what happened in my environment to young people who is still in his teens but is already addicted to gambling.

It's true what you said, when they are addicted to gambling, they will experience excessive mental stress and perhaps this will cause them to become depressed to the point of experiencing mental disorders or very fatal actions that can end their life. That's true, with incidents like this, I think it can be used as a lesson for us not to gamble excessively.

In my opinion, all those gambling streamers should be exterminated like the plague.  Most of them earn money by endorsing gambling platforms and streaming games with fake money, drawing in younger susceptible viewers vulnerable to addiction.

You are some how right, these streamers are given free money on the house tab to play whatever games...win or lose and keep showing  these big payouts that they won and their viewers believe this is possible for them to win, but then again I believe these guys do put disclaimers to avoid the finger pointing and let's also not forget there is an aspect of due diligence especially that gambling is for person's above the age of 18 who are supposed to have the element of knowing right and wrong or differentiating fake from real.
Otherwise, it's unfortunate a life was lost because of the problem of gambling addiction... perhaps all gambling platforms need a gambling time out to allow people to reset.

This is exactly why Twitch banned gambling livestreams.
Not sure if this is justified to be honest!!! Simple solution is to ensure the audience is over a certain age to ensure everyone has the ability to make their own choices...

Btw, If they ban streamers affiliated to gambling, then we might as well ban gambling ads on television, billboards , newspapers etc because all this leads to getting more players to gambling ..

This is why some countries are in fear of exposing gambling ads to their citizens, gambling isnt illegal in most countries but they forbid gambling promotions and adverts in the public, it will simply take a lot of lives, and many people are weak when it comes to thinking for themselves, they can take their lives or commit grave crimes.

I have never been pushed my streamers before because I know what's happening behind the scenes, streamers don't lose any money, they are either faking the casino wins or they are using money contributed to them through their fans to gamble.

If streamers lose every penny they won't feel anything, but that doesn't mean you will feel the same way if you take such a risk, remember that someone is feeding them the money, not you, so whatever you lose is on you, lack of understanding is what makes this person took his own life, there is no money thats worth anyone's life.

His reaction is probably due to the fact that news like this will affect his streams since he earn through gambling content while the news is all about showing dark side of gambling effect that might turn off his followers. I’m not defending his action he is the type of person that is arrogant as his character when he streams.

I’m not expecting him to show some sad reaction because it will be out of character for him.

His reaction towards the news doesn’t reflect to the stream he produced which is the sole basis whether he deserves to be on kick platform or not. I find his stream entertaining as a fellow gambler. I don’t about his opinion about different matter because I don’t watch him for his opinion but to the way he delivers his stream.

Another sad story, I guess that's why there's never enough talk about responsible gambling. People, especially young people, need to know how dangerous gambling is if they have no control over it.
This may not be possible to everyone because not everyone are not greedy and able to control the way they are gambling and be gambling in a responsible way. Some people will see gambling as a way to make money and prefer to just have that mentality and using it to gamble. They will think they can make money from gambling and that will drive them to gamble to make money but instead they will be losing and thinking that they will recover back the loss which is just an addiction. This is a sad story but what is more sad about it is that this will not be the last.

And as for streamers they are here to stay. There will always be people like this streamer, and there will always be platforms for them to share this kind of content. I don't think it's just gambling, there are a lot of streamers that have toxic content, I don't support and don't follow any streamers, but that's the "new normal". They are making a lot of money and people watch them. If people don't follow and watch them, they won't even exist.

Everyone is responsible for all their actions, including when they really enjoy streaming gambling, they will be very tempted to try it too, but unfortunately many people don't realize that what the streamer gets from his broadcast doesn't reflect what his viewers will also get because streamers often only play with money from the casinos that sponsor them. so that when streamers lose it won't hurt them, unlike the audience whose emotions and finances will be affected if they lose, so the streamer should also tell the audience that what they get will be different for each individual so that when the audience gambles they already understand the risk of not getting anything because they don't get according to what was expected, or not the same as what streamers get.
Biggest mistake is actually gambler himself who fails to control himself and cannot resist the temptation of wanting to gamble when watching various broadcasts of gambling sessions carried out by streamers.
Those who are streamers use various methods to attract gamblers to follow what they do with the aim of making money, but there is no coercion or invitation to gamble so that if something bad happens to gambler then it is his own fault.
Indeed, watching gambling broadcasts with various successes and big wins is very interesting and can even give gamblers feeling of confidence that they will be able to get similar wins.
However, this is the starting point for mistakes that can cause various complicated problems and gamblers must be able to realize this and be willing to think little more clearly that they are not streamers who can win easily at any time.
An accomplished gambler can only increase his chances with predictions and strategies but this is not guaranteed, it is clearly different from streamer who makes various efforts to get big win.
After all, no streamer will broadcast his defeat and this is one of the things have to think about when see streamer who always wins.

Well, this isn't a surprise. The number of suicides due to gambling is really high compared to other suicidal problems out there. This is what they want to influence their audience with and there's nothing to blame with this issue other than this influencer. Personally, there have been times when I've thought about taking my life but I always remind myself that it's just a bad day and for sure tomorrow will be different. I want to quit gambling but I can't. I don't know why. Hopefully this won't happen to me.
Thanks to God you realized that it was a very bad day for you, all days can never be good because that's life for everyone, many times you have to make some decisions that is hard and that's what makes you who you are.
If you can make good decisions and stay by it, it makes you who you are, like the streamer gambler that committed suicide because of his bad days, his decision shows that he's isn't a person that can make good decisions. It's not a bad idea to loses your money in bets but it's very terrible when you commit suicide because you have lost your money in games. There's nothing on earth that can make be compared to ones life.

really sad news to read.
Unfortunately in these cases it would be better to seek help because it is always possible to find a solution.
the streaming of "controversial" content such as these linked to gambling/casino will certainly be modified in the future with more rules and restrictions.
I agree that some should be removed since they are showing only a fiction and not really events.

This further worsens the image of the gambling industry because things related to gambling such as murder, violence or domestic violence, harassment and so on, ordinary people will blame gambling.
In fact, it's because of their own stupid carelessness, and I don't really care about negative gambling-related news even if it's just manipulation or whatever. However, ordinary people will assume or judge that the gambling industry is the problem.
And thats why gambling does really have that kind of negative image in most community or having that common bad impressions towards it because it would really be usually be that always be attached when it comes to
addiction, crime, suicide and other negative things on which we know that once the community sees up these things then they would really be focusing into those negatives and wouldnt be caring about its true reason of its existence.  As for these streamers then we do really know about their job and on how they do make money and doesnt matter if they do make use of fake money but still it is one of the most common method for
companies on making use of it to have that kind of effective marketing.

In regarding about problems then we do know that once you cant really be able to control it anymore then this is where you would really be thinking about having suicide
as for some people do really sees this as the easiest way on resolving those problems on which this is something that you would really considering but this is
really just that a foolish move.

Streamers should not be seen as real gamblers. It is true that they are endorsed by the gambling site and they pay them huge amount of money. It is not something that is hidden. People should not be gambling with huge amount of money, they should know that gambling is very risky. People only think of the good side of gambling and not thinking of the negative consequences. I do not have the streamers to blame if I can not blame the reason that gambling sites are existing but the gamblers themselves are to be blamed of greedy nature. When I was addicted, not steamers that got me addicted but I was just addicted myself. Sorry to the boy's family, they will be in pain by now.

Yes, I totally agree to what you just said above, because if there is anybody to be blame for this young man's death, "Adin Ross" is the rightful person to be blame for haven indirectly made his followers addicted to gambling while trying to experiment most of the tips and strategies they may have watched him doing in his videos. And secondly, the person who committed suicide is also partly to be blamed, because nobody forced him to gamble and lost, which I'm sure must have been the main reason which prompted him to committing suicide, as he ought to gave gambled only with an amount he could always afford to lose, but yet due to greed, he went extra miles, and now the only option he thinks was suicide. However, May his gentle soul Rest In Peace, and this should be a lesson to everyone not to practice everything you watch online.

Exactly. I don't side with the streamer; it's just the fact that why would the streamer be accountable or look like he is being blamed? Yeah, he might have a fault, but not entirely. He has a fault in the sense that he is promoting gambling, but he is just doing that for him to make a living. He doesn't have control over who will be watching or what the state of those watching is in terms of their gambling activity.
I don't exactly watch him, but how does he conduct himself when streaming? How did the advertising happen? I believe we can hold streamers accountable to some extent if they have some influence on how their viewers should or should not do something. I'm not talking about giving monetary donations whenever a terrible case happens to their viewers, but they should conduct themselves better in the future. Sadly I don't think that's going to happen with narcissistic/psychopathic streamers.

I think improving viewer's critical thinking is probably the best way to prevent something like this. The platform probably can do more than just a warning that the user can close easily if they are serious about preventing suicide etc. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen unless there's a strict law related to that. They will likely follow the money and do the bare minimum as usual.

It's a moral compass of the streamers themselves, and I think majority thinks that they are not responsible for any actions of their followers. And for me, we shouldn't influence by this streamers as they could be just living a fake life for all we know. It could be all make believed when they are in front of the camera. And hopefully for those who are following them, just used our logical mind and not be swayed by anything they do or say.

So another horrible stories again. Hopefully, for those whoever you are, contemplating about during this kind of things. It will just give more problems though to the ones that you are going to left so it's not worth to even think about it.

With how popular the streaming market is and how easy it is to create a cult of personality in your platform, I think that it's probably the time that you should do your responsibility as a streamer to take care of the people that's on your platform watching you do the things that you need. I think that the ban is a deserved one because that kind of things aren't supposed to happen anyway and that we all should take care of people, the world is slowly deteriorating with flexible morals, it's probably in our best interest that we should do something about this, people being able to influence a horde of yes men and child, it's a scary prospect that this has become the norm for this world.

Your funny bro, to me your the one who doesn't want to quite gambling, its not as tho they have a grip on you or your forced to the issue here is you need to renew your mind about this cause addiction is a tign of the mind. I have a friend who has been into smoking addiction before for two years but when
he  had a reason to stop he did which was his health, maybe you need to end up in a catastrophic even like losing all your life savings or weaking yourself for good then no one would need to advice you that you must leave gambling yourself.

It's sad to hear what an individual can do because of gambling addiction. Influencers should be mindful of the audiences and contents they are sharing when promoting online gambling. Platforms like kick should implement a much stricter guidelines on which content or how their influencers should promote online gambling. it's important to prioritize audiences well-being over profit and view numbers.
