I was on the Jets Spread yesterday so I cant complain about the win but I wonder why they decided to show up for this game and win against the Rams?
Sacrificing their 1st Pick to just have a win on the board?
Anyone have an explanation, except for maybe Pride?
Assuming this is not the Jets just being the Jets, and I know that is a pretty big assumption, there is a possibility that maybe they like Justin Fields more than they like Trevor Lawrence, at this point in time it seems everyone is agreeing that Trevor Lawrence is the top pick on the next draft, however there are a few that argue that Justin Fields could be even better, so the Jets prefer to take some heat right now and get the second pick instead and choose Fields rather than to get the first pick and pick Fields from which they will most likely receive criticism for months if not years or even decades if the pick is wrong, looking at you Ken O'Brien of the 1983 NFL draft.
Another possibility is that they have talked with the agents of both Lawrence and Fields and Lawrence made it clear he will avoid them while Fields could be fine playing there as the market of NY could offer a lot of opportunities to make money off the field if he turns out to be a star.
I know neither explanation makes a lot of sense but it is what it is.
