In my opinion, this is a hasty conclusion.... 

Most people have an instinctive aversion to war and bloodshed.  It was not Russians who fought in Afghanistan, but Soviet soldiers (citizens of the USSR). 

However, people who once participated in a war are potentially ready to participate in the next war, and so on ad infinitum.  But the worst thing is that by competently manipulating the collective unconscious, you can instill in any nation a love of war.  It's like a virus that most people on Earth don't have immunity to. 

Perhaps, indeed, world history is influenced not by individual peoples, but by a politically active minority (the so-called passionaries).  They directly affect the collective unconscious of people, inclining them to evil.

They have a long history - from Afghan invasion till Ukraine - the story goes on and it will keep going.

I do not really believe in the announcement of partial or full mobilization in the Russian Federation in January 2023.  So far, there is no such need (in my opinion).  Mobilization will probably take place later. 

On the eve of the New Year, the President of the Russian Federation congratulated (?) the Russians on the New Year, surrounded by fighters who distinguished themselves in a special operation.  His New Year's speech can, in my opinion, be regarded as a strategic plan for conducting a long-term positional war.  With this type of fighting, there is no need to make quick management decisions regarding mobilization.  On the contrary, it is necessary to gradually prepare the Russians for such a development of events.  Over the next 10 years, it is possible to gradually achieve new strategic goals for the transformation of Russia - a significant decrease in the standard of living of the population, the militarization of the economy and the complete abolition of the rights and freedoms of citizens. 

Perhaps the task is to turn the Russian Federation into the Russian Empire with the complete abolition of all pseudo-democratic institutions, the restoration of the monarchy and the division of the population into separate estates.  Perhaps this is the path that Russia will have to follow.

On December 31, New Year's Eve, Putin was presented with an internal memorandum on the irretrievable losses of the Russian occupying army in Ukraine. The figures are impressive and they are much higher than according to the official information of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

  So, since the invasion in February, the loss of Russians killed and missing in Ukraine is already about 145,000 people. Of these, the regular army lost 104,166 people, PMC "Wagner" - 33,902 people, the FSB of Russia - 1118 people and the Ministry of Emergency Situations - 297 people. But the problem is that Putin does not care about human losses. From January 5, he plans to announce an additional mobilization of more "live meat" and try to shut up the problems of the mediocre military command on the fronts in Ukraine. And yet the Russians continue to generally support the war of conquest in Ukraine. As a result of this, no mass indignation is expected with the situation in Russia itself.

It's been a long time that we have been cursing war. But this doesn't bring in any good to the world.
We don't know how many deaths we have to see in the days to come. These warlords are making our lives miserable.

I also read the history of Russia and Ukraine, both are good brothers but sadly things have changed. Russians and Ukrainians, no one is to blame, and they do not deserve the terrible things that are happening right now.

War is the result of the greed of some individuals and causes pain to millions of people, humanity is really too cruel. I don't understand why they want war, why they need so much money, and so much property when they can't take it with them when they die.

I don't come from two warring countries, but I can feel the anguish of the people living there because my country also went through those deadly wars. I just hope that the people of the two countries will soon see peace again and that everyone will be close brothers again. Wishing everyone peace in the new year. I understand the pointlessness of apologizing to the people of Ukraine for the actions of my distraught compatriots.  Everything is so catastrophic that any apology will look like a mockery.  

There was a disaster, I could not stop it.  The evil will of evil people turned out to be stronger than my will.  

The only thing in my power is never to use weapons against Ukrainians, Russians or representatives of any other nations.  

I want to wish all Ukrainians a peaceful sky over their heads in 2023.  

We will never again be a fraternal people, although I remember the time when the citizens of our countries traveled freely from Russia to Ukraine, and from Ukraine to Russia.  

I even planned that in the future I would marry a Ukrainian girl (because they are very beautiful).

Although I don't live in two countries at war like you do, the effects we are experiencing are severe and I hope it ends soon. Today, December 31, the bastard racist regime launched another missile strike. No, not at military facilities, not even at infrastructure facilities. This time in Kyiv, rockets flew INTO RESIDENTIAL QUARTERS! One rocket hit in Kyiv hit near the school. One rocket hit a residential building. 1.5 kilometers from the place where I live, a Russian rocket fell, which simply did not reach its target ...
These were not downed missiles, these were their GOALS - residential buildings, schools, hospitals .... In Kiev, 1 person died, 11 were seriously injured.

There is a theory about the natural aggressiveness of Russians, I heard it even from the Russians themselves. 

However, I have a different vision of this situation.  Every person has two essences - the will to live and the will to die.  The will to live is Eros, the angel of life.  The will to die is Thanatos, the demon of death.  These two entities live in the soul of every person, moreover, they live in the collective unconscious of human communities. 

At present, in the collective unconscious of the Russians, Thanatos has defeated Eros.  The will to die has completely conquered the will to live. 

This is the reason for the catastrophe.

World? What world are you talking about? The world is not only US and Nato but the world consists of 203 countries. The Russians are still doing business with the superpowers China and India, two countries with a combined population of one-third of the world's population, and the whole of Asia has excellent relations with Russia. So far, the war is not over, and neither side has claimed victory, so I won't say that Russia is stronger or Ukraine is more robust in terms of motivation or professionalism you say. The result will be the most correct answer.

Russian has a history of war and they wake up one day and decide to attack and invade another country because they want to test their missile.
They are brutal and they love blood shed.

Yesterday I listened to an interview with the famous financier Andrey Movchan. 

He currently lives in London, UK.  The topic of the interview is the fighting in Ukraine.... 

According to Andrei Movchan, the Russian authorities have a very big advantage in these hostilities.  This advantage lies in the fact that the Russian authorities can control the intensity of the military conflict.  They can escalate the situation, or, on the contrary, they can deliberately drag out hostilities, as a result, everything will result in a very protracted positional war. 

I am afraid of my own forecasts, - Andrey Movchan said, - but the hostilities can drag on for a very long time, for example, for 10 years.  At the same time, the situation in Russia will gradually worsen, the standard of living of the population will fall, technological and cultural degradation will increase, people will die a violent death. 

Most experts (supporting Russia or Ukraine) believe that the hostilities will end in the near future (with the victory of one side or another).  But there is also an alternative view. 

And if this is true, then this means huge disasters for the Ukrainian people, for the Russian people and for the rest of the world.

The war is taking place on the territory of Ukraine and Ukrainians are fighting with Russia. For Ukraine, the stakes in this war are too high - freedom and independence, so they do not intend to give in to the Putin regime, despite the fact that Ukraine will have to pay a big price. On the other hand, Putin is now also fighting for his existence, because Russia itself will not forgive him for defeat in the war. Therefore, the war goes to the depletion of resources to continue it. In Russia, there is already a problem in almost everything: armored vehicles, artillery ammunition, missiles, even in conventional small arms and trained soldiers. But if Russia can still use the masses for the war with Ukraine, then it can no longer provide them with everything they need. The issue with the officers is also extremely acute, since almost the entire professional army of Russia, which invaded in February, has already perished on the territory of Ukraine.

Of course, Ukraine itself would not have stood against Russia with its colossal resources. But to say that this is a war between the United States and its NATO allies, on the one hand, and Russia, on the other, is possible only in terms of material resources. Otherwise, Russians are significantly inferior to the motivation and professionalism of Ukrainians.

It is clear that after this war there will still be no more in the world. Russia will lose its former influence on the world stage.

This is a war between the US and Russia, not between Russia and Ukraine, so it is almost impossible to expect either of these countries to yield first to sit at the negotiating table. The US will never stop aid and agree to end the war unless Russia actually defeats the Volodymyr Zelensky regime. But to do that for Russia is also a problem because it alone is against 29 countries, not just one.

Although the war is causing chaos in the world, the United States is the biggest beneficiary, so it will not be easy for them to agree to a cessation of hostilities.

I don't think that any of the GOP politicians have refused to support Ukraine. But then, they are against handing out hundreds of billions of USD worth of tax payer money to Zelensky without any audit or accountability, especially at a time when the American tax payers are grappling with sky high inflation. The Democrats are using the Ukraine war as an opportunity to swindle funds and whenever someone questions them they are countering them with false allegations of bias towards Russia. Only a small fraction of the funds delivered actually reaches the frontline.

I doubt that US is going to let this war end anytime soon. The plan was always to recreate what happened to NATO over the past 20 years for Russia in Ukraine. All sides are predicting a very dire 2023 because of this specially since we haven't seen any signs of deescalation from neither US nor Russia.
