Always put that on my mind from first i join crypto. Even from my friend i always be careful because some of my friend in crypto, only meet in social media and not have meet face to face yet. 
If you say you can't trust anyone, then what is the trust rating on bitcointalk forum for? Some members of this forum have worked hard to build trust. Just do your research very well and follow through with the ratings and why they are so rated.
Yes that is true. Never trust anyone except your self. The ICO rating sites are your only guide of what are the projects that will be conducting ICO but in the end of the day, you must do your own research about the project.

Hypes are everywhere, it depends on how we interact and believe on them, they are part of marketing ideas that could boast their sales, in fact, i suggest to my co friends that investing in crypto is not a matter of how much money you have, but its a matter of how you understand the project you are investing in.

I believed that all you can trust is only yourself. Don't trust anyone so that you can avoid those scamming, better if you do your own research to know and find which a good ico you can go.

believe on the site rating is a mistake. what they are not objective value and even full of errors. Sometimes there are good projects are worth the bad in their assessment. and even scam instead are given value and it was pretty good. Indeed better analyze yourself because the result will be more satisfactory.

Everything can buy with money, ICO rating sites are opened to earn money for the owner so they will lose nothing if their reviews are not correct. We must responsible for our decision because we control our money.
ICO Rating sites are just guidelines, everyone must be resourceful. If we are serious to invest huge amount in a specific project, do some research and investigations. It really hard to lose money in this kind of field but we must be prepare that involving in this society is very risky. Always bear in mind that "invest what you can afford to lose".

So what this expert receive back, they will not pay for expert title for nothing, ico project will pay this expert in order to has high rate for their project.

isn't that really the case from the past until now here we are looking to manage and get the benefits we will get with our own business we must be clever to take advantage of every opportunity that will always come
I've ever saw a post reply in an ANN thread, saying that the project has been listed in some rating sites by the agent of that sites, asking the owner to check and contact that sites for their data, perhaps that could be something related with payment or anykind like that.
