Well not unexpected if you were thinking some retooling is going on.
If you have s9 farms and are refitting to m20s or s17e gear. It is not simple. New racks and reworking circuits take time.
A farm with all s9's on 30amp pdu's could be 4 s9's per circuit say 4 x 1200 = 4800 watts and use 4 receptacle pdu's
If you went to s17 pro it would be 2 s17 per circuit say 2 x 2300 = 4600 watts and use the same pdu's
You only need change shelf heights. so you could be quick.
But switching to m20s you can't use the pdu's since they are 12-15 amp per socket and will pop breaker.
So if you had these pdu's

but if you go to m20s
and you pull the pdu and the 4 cables and buy this

I would imagine some would do the above as 1 m20s does 68th on 3500 watts vs 4 s9's do 52th on 4800 watts.
but each circuit ends up being short 2300 watts. So some may do re wires which puts some down time. I would think the oct 1 to oct 7 chinese holidays were the time to do some re wires and hash rate dropped off. I saw multiple large s9 offerings this week.
Our mine is all l6-30p 30 amp receptacles. So we have some low circuits
4
with
2 doing m20s
1 doing m21s
1 doing inno t3 t50
but we have 36 circuits and are not filled out. we will continue to spot buy gear with decent prices offered.
I just got a good deal on a1041. due oct
I have some t17e's coming soon. due nov
we have a s17 coming for dec
