I don't think that traders are waiting for the market to become stable - it is the crypto's volatility that helps them to make money out of thin air as the topic starter said.
Not sure what others expect, but I personally would like some coins to at least reach ICO price - I've got some earned from bounties but don't wanna sell them for pennies in the current downtrend.

To the question you raised on what are we exactly waiting for in particular with having the price of bitcoin and all altcoins to go up, I think for bitcoin, my opinion is that the support of the community is the biggest driver of its price. If bitcoin recieves speculations about regulations, then the bitcoin trading gets affected somehow. If there is a positive news about bitcoin, it follows that its value goes up. One example to this is when some arab countries embrace the use of bitcoin, the price goes up. So I think this is some of the example that we needed to regain the value of bitcoin and altcoin.

In actual we are waiting for the stability , as everyone said .
As most of us we know that we are at the circumstance of dump in the market and this dump resulted already in big crucial year , so even with this long term.dump stability in the price of the market of the bitcoin we are living in fear that it may go for more dump Because in present time many types of factors like ban/regulations/ETF Fuds/news are coming and going and creating a panic in the mind of new investors in this field , that leads into stop in the progress of the market of the cryptocurrency .
So due to this fear we are still with thinking that we can't again put more investment Because we can loss .
And I think new pump and increase in the market will take place after a big news about the favour of cryptocurrency in any big developed country .
So wait for the better , and wait for the perfect descion by the governments of many countries and more stability that will have no impact of the negative news and fud in this field .

We are waiting for more investors to come into the market and push the price upward as we develop in the journey of cryptocurrencies world. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that is going to interest new investors once the current bad news and attack from governments and bankers are over and people start to invest in bitcoin. What investors want is to be assured that there investment is save and the can get they capital back including making profits.

Are you waiting for big investors to enter the cryptocurrency investment, then after the price rises you sell your assets? Until when will you continue like that? What if what you hope doesn't come true? I think we have to wait for cryptocurrency to be received throughout the world and can become a global currency so that the adoption of Bitcoin continues to increase without dependence on large investors.
