I think it's better to participate when ico stage because the tokens have less value and sometimes ico have 50% discount so if the ico succeeds in their project and the token has listed on exchangers surely you'll get huge profit by selling your tokens.

Actually it’s so hard to predict what is the good time to buy altcoin because we do not know when is they reach the lowest value of it. For me I'm going to buy in a dip.If a certain ICO falls upto 30 percent of its original price then it is like buying in ICO which is having 30% sale.

it is clear, and depends on the altcoin type. some alt coins in ICO step is better for example (ETH) was good. and some of them is good to buy in exchanges. in general if you are sure about the future of alts, it is better to buy in ICO, else you can wait to inter in exchange

I am prefer choosing buying altcoin in exchange. Many altcoin after ICO when landing on exchanger drop the price because many dump the bonus they get and the price sometimes below ICO price. Its profitable when we buying coin/token with that strategy but we should do research first.

Right now since crypto is in green i would say in ICO stage. But if a crisis occurs again, you will be bound to lose a lot of money if you dont sell at the top.
But like always, its really hard to predict how price will react when token goes on exchange.
