IN terms of fame and usage? Yes, but the purpose? I don't think so. Even if bitcoin turn sour in the years to come, no other cryptocurrency could replace the purpose of bitcoin in the cryptocurrency world. As we all know every altcoin in existence depended on bitcoin for survivality so I don't think bitcoin would become obsolete and another altcoin would take its place.

Bitcoin is not going to be replaced by another crytocurrency because it is the first one and most successful one. Bitcoin is ever going to have any competition unless someone come up with something as mind blowing itself.

Day by day the price and the popularity of the Ethereum is going up. It also has faster confirmation time. I think it might replace bitcoin.

Well, all I can say is that bitcoin is the pioneer in the crypto world, and I don't really think so that it could be replaced  by another crypto currency in the future. The ideology of bitcoin was amazed us all and its legacy is irreplaceable, and besides I don't see any chances of other cryptocurrency to take the crown of bitcoin because they are really far from bitcoin even ETH which is the second one. That's my thought.

I think if today bitcoin is the best crypto than any other crypto but if one day bitcoin will be replaced by another coin, it is very difficult to replace bitcoin because bitcoin is crypto mother and by this time bitcoin has begun to grow and many. Know in the community of course very influential because the popularity of bitcoin is the first Smiley

Bitcoin can be eaten one day. Efforts are constantly being made to produce new technology. Bitcoin is the first crypto money. Because Bitcoin technology is outdated, it may take down a new technology.

That is the cold hard truth, mate. Whichever cryptocurrency comes first that will address Bitcoin's underlying issues, would be the most likely replacement to the pioneer cryptocurrency. One thing for sure, is that Bitcoin's market dominance has been declining slowly each day. As such, the risk of another cryptocurrency taking over is quite high, and if Bitcoin doesn't do anything to address its most important issues such as scalability, then it will be doomed.

Now, there are better altcoins out there which are capable of scaling to a wide user base. Mostly, DAG based coins like IOTA and ByteBall can do this and have a high potential of overcoming Bitcoin in the future. On the other hand, there's Stellar and Ripple which transactions are near instant. Also, there is a new technology called Hash Graph which brings many improvements in crypto land. If a new cryptocurrency launches with such concept, then it will be one step closer of overcoming Bitcoin.

Therefore, Bitcoin needs to quickly adapt to the changes in our world, or else it will be left behind as a legacy payments system, while other cryptocurrencies take the lead. Just my thoughts Grin

No one knows when BTC will be replaced with another coin. But many people complain about btc. Examples like Cost and more. I firmly believe that btc is the mother of all coins but in the far future there will be many advanced crypto coins with better technology. In the future we will all see whether BTC can be replaced by another coin. I think the biggest and most expensive virtual money is bitcoin. And many also believe that the higher the bitcoin price. But bitcoin is a virtual currency that has a high value.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

Bitcoin is the first and original coin. It is the highest priced coins in the cryptocurrency world. Bitcoin has the largest audience and most sought after coins. In short, it has proven its trust and reputation in terms of cryptocurrencies. Personally, Bitcoin cannot be replaced by any coins. It would still lead the crypto world.

Bitcoin calls mean to wait for the future. In future bitcoin and now every currency of bitcoin is not suitable for currency conversion instead. Many people thought that it would replace another coin possibly.

I don't see another cryptocurrency replacing bitcoin due to its steady upward move. However, it is possible for a coin or two to compete with bitcoin in terms of value in the future.

Bitcoin is Platinum, there will be both gold and silver, but platinum is one!

Technology goes ahead every day. I am sure that in a while there will be a coin that will be technologically much better than Bitcoin and will take over the market.

i don't think so, because bitcoin still remain the father of all Altcoin which means that no matter what happen or how the valuable the new cryptocurrency will be it will  always be beneath BTC.. they must show the fact that it is ahead of them.

Everything can happen including that bitcoin is defeated with another coin, and if we look at the current fact that bitcoin marketcap continues to decline, if a year ago it reached more than 60%, it now only reaches 34% and it seems like many people are starting to like ETH or XRP.

Bitcoin has been one of the most effective exchange tools for years. For a long time, BTC remained the leading cryptocurrency on the market, both in terms of valuation and application. Many say that the moment of Ethereum's creation and its development changed the approach to Bitcoin.

I don't find any coin having capable to replace bitcoin but above all its crypto world and any thing can happen here. No one could say that bitcoin will worth thousands dollar 2 years back but now see its worth so same may be the case with any other coin but in this current situation It is quite impossible to replace bitcoin by any other coin.

Yes, it can happen. They would first need to break away from Bitcoin's shadow.
There already other cryptocurrencies that are doing things that Bitcoin isn't, or that are more efficient yet Bitcoin is still King.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
Many people are already saying that bitcoin would no longer be number one and a cryptocurrency will take over its throne soon. We should start investing on other cryptocurrency so in case bitcoin ends up being dethroned, we still have something to rely on. Although that's the thing, we should still keep on supporting bitcoin since it is still running great up until today.

There will always be a possibility that another cryptocurrency will rise over bitcoin but if we would keep on supporting bitcoin, that thing would not happen so easy. Ethereum is one of the main candidates for being the next top cryptocurrency and it is definitely expected to have it near with bitcoin even in the future. Let us keep our hopes high for bitcoin and believe that it would do greater in the future.

Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency?
At this stage Bitcoin firmly takes the place of digital gold. Yes, there are coins that are more advanced and transactions are made instantly, but, in the near future, I do not see a promising coin that will replace Bitcoin. You can also say by traditional gold - there are more precious metals, but gold firmly takes its place, the same Bitcoin. Although some trust ETH more, but in the portfolio they always have Bitcoin.
