Yes, this must be a trend, no one can stand. Banknotes waste resources and are not in line with future humans. This will be achieved in 10 years.
We have now almost completely abandoned cash, all fixed costs are completely through the card or through an online Bank, payments for the apartment, electricity, water, shopping in the store, shopping online, travel and more. Cashless payments are really the future, but with the introduction of cryptocurrencies, they can also enter into our lives. A big plus of cryptocurrency is that anyone can earn it without making a big effort.
I have a vivid discussion with my friends lately. They say that one day people will forget what cash is and they will start use card only. Then the era of the changed and innovated cryptocurrency world comes, and we will stop using money and switch on crypto coins only. They say it might take twenty or thirty years, maybe longer, but it is a sure thing to happen, they have no doubts about it. I am not so sure... well, people might give up using cash as it is not that convenient, but giving up money as whole? I really really doubt it, it seems so impossible for me. What do you think? Maybe we will start using something brand new, neither cash nor cards? What is the future of the cryptocurrency world, anyway? Will it die in fifty, sixty years or it is going to be a thing that will live forever? Let's dream for a while 
There have been different forms of money, gold and silver, fiat and crypto. In the future, there can be more. But the form is not that important because money is not determined by its form but by what it does and how it is used. If something physical like coins and banknotes or immaterial like digits in a computer or on the blockchain, is used as a universal means of exchange, it is money by almost every definition out there. Without money, it would be barter, highly ineffective and inconvenient.
Yes of course it is possible for humans to not to use cash in the near future because if the growing technology of any country it can really happened in any days. And I think it would be easy to some people to adopt how to use online the future currency.

I think that is big possibility. Why we will need to use paper money in the future ? Already for me i dont have any cash for years i am taking my salary to my account from bank to bank and i am
continue paying with my credit card. So i think that is big possibilty and i think we dont need for tha 30 years more.
And surely after cashless economy crypto currencies can come to mainstream surely. I dont have any doubt for that.
I think no. Either you are a card user, cash, crypto. Use it wisely. Benefit of card resides solely of it ease but it is controlled and centralized. CASH is still the king and remains a such. CRYPTO is the future. If you are reading this post, evidently you know what it means. You are part of the 5% and growing earth population that use crypto.
since currency keep evolving throughout the times, i think its possible humanity will change the current currency (cash) into something new
It is clear that we will not use cash anymore in the future because of its inconvenience. We will use digital money or cryptocurrency in the future for convenience and synchronion with digital life.
I look forward to a future where humanity does not use cash. I think China is a pioneer country does not use cash. I read an article, beggar in China also use electronic payment system.
Yeah you are right and if we think about it, it is safe, useful and easy for them. The rest of the world is going on that way and I am sure in the future people will use only digital currency. From barter system we reached to credit cards, now from credits and debit cards we are proceeding towards digital currency. There is still long time to go for cashless world but it is confirmed and we will see it. 
Its clear that someday the people will stop using cash money and will pay everything on electronic devices. The question is just when? When you look today, there are a lot of people who pay everyday with credit card and other electronic payment method. And it comes everyday more. So the cash fiat money will someday dissappear. But if it will be replaced by cryptocurrencies, that is the big question!
amid the growing advances in existing technologies certainly, make cash look has a lot of flaws. This look is not practical for a situation that there are certainly many will prefer to crypto as an option. clear crypto only judged more practical and even safe enough in its use. whether this will continue to be live in the next few years? I don't think so, cash is still the main payment for people. Even when it can be changed into card transaction or peer to peer through the phone or crypto, but I think cash is still more widely used by most users. Even yeah with digital payment or transaction like what i said before is give a lot of benefits. Like there is a track record for transaction. But people still choose for have a cash for transaction, it's like they afraid to believe that they don't have a cash if they used digital currencies. So, i think it's impossible for humanity to stop using cash.
because really the ease of handling real money makes paper money just not replaceable. Honestly, I can hardly imagine how my elderly parents or My small children can use cryptocurrency as a means of payment.

The internet is not going to be switched off, too much of the worlds services
depend on it, economics, trade and communications.
Here in europe cash is being phased out and not everyone is aware of the
consequences of the move. How is it being phased out? Plastic and online.
Currently cash is useless for me because I pay all my household bills via
the internet through my bank account, I buy fuel for my car at an unmanned
service station (card only). I can pay for anything under €30 with my card
without inputting a pin number. If someone gives me a large amount of
cash i need to go to my bank branch and lodge it to my account.
Cash is on the way out, it will take time but its happening.
Cash will always be in existence despite widespread or mass adoption of any other form of payment.

Yes, such an outcome is quite real, and it is unlikely that the world will be able to ensure such a degree of electronic security that everything works without interruptions and the possibility of sabotage.
What will we use to replace for cash? Cryptocurrency? I don't know but at first if we wanna use cryptocurrency to replace cash, we need to wait unti cryptocurrency legalized worldwide first and this process will take really long time for sure. IMO, I think cryptocurrency is the only thing can replace cash in the future.
I think that cash will not be abandoned, given that there are people around us who do not understand technology. besides that there are still some areas that do not have internet networks.
