I think both ETH and BTC are great coins. But I still believe more in BTC, it is still the most well known coins, and still has a lot of potential to grow. For me, I have both ETH and BTC, I will keep holding them for some more time, at least one more year I think.
First bitcoin was winner.
Last year ETH show us better result.
Now i think need to look to other new blockchain maybe EOS, but too late invest on it, need earlier

If I see it from development, it looks like the ethereum will be a winner for this year. Because this is also being many ethereum once carved the achievement. And now the ethereum also able to master the market. even I am deeply convinced there will be a surge in prices at the end of this year.
I actually don't want a clear winner because it will just keep the market volatile and unstable.
The best situation would be if the majority of the market value is divided up amongst three to four different coins.
It is never healthy to have one coin be worth almost half of the entire market value.
So if eth takes it's place, then we are basically in the same boat, everything hinges on the performance of that one thing.
In reality, I see this happening more naturally too.
As the market matures and crypto becomes more mainstream, there will be equal attention paid to different legitimate projects.
Investors will also wise up and see that btc and eth are really two entirely different things.
So I think you will see more heated competition between eth and eos, ada, neo, etc rather than the whole eth vs btc debate.
Also, btc is already 9 years old, in tech years that's like a dinosaur.

BTC will always be the most popular crypto, especially when we take a look at ETH prices today, it goes below $400.. Its so sad but might be a good time to buy more eth for those who still got more money.

bitcoin will still be the winner and the top. Although the ethereum also experienced an increase is good but it will not be enough to be able to rival the bitcoin. Moreover, in the circumstances of the crypto as now when there is no increase in means can be expected. bitcoin certainly will still be the best in comparison to other altcoins even includes the ethereum.

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

This is only the beginning of the second half, but it may be confirmed that Ethereum will not be able to beat Bitcoin this year.
Indeed the Ethereum platform is the most adopted by new projects, but I think crypto is more than just technology.

In my opinion, Bitcoin will finish this year with better results. It's growing now and will reach at leat $9000 by the end of the year.
I believe that each of these projects has its pros and cons. On the ERC-20 platform, almost all new projects come out, but Bitcoin has a more developed infrastructure, many ordinary people do not know that apart from bitcoin, there are other crypto-currencies. I understand what you're saying, I also keep thinking that ETh is more valuable than BTC, but eth won't surpass bitcoin not only by the end of this year, but also in future. So big money are concentrated in BTC and it is fully decentralised! It is father of crypto and nothing will replace it
I think Bitcoin is the year's winner. It didn't have negative publicity, showed good growth percentage as compared to other coins, and it continues to grow.
though the crypto market is volatile and with such ups and down in the trend of values,one can't point out now but ETH has a great potential to bounce back to a high value before the year ends
I do not think Ethereum and Bitcoin are the winners of 2018. In the beginning of 2018, it experienced an upturn and it fell over time to see the bottom price.
