Na dann oute ich mich mal auch als Monerohodler. War eh klar.
Also für OpenBasar oder DM allgemein ist Multisig ja ein "Muss", und der Fork wird eine Markterschütterung die sich überstehen lässt. Kommt ja immer auf den Grund und die Perspektive an.
Zu HitBTC hätte ich ein paar Fragen, da war ich bisher nämlich auf dem Holzweg ... ich hatte sehr gut mit denen getraded, SEPA&etc alles kein Problem, bis dann die ersten Gerüchte auftauchten die sich mittlerweile genug verdichtet haben, für meinen Geschmack, um da die Segel zu streichen. Technische Probleme hatten die jedenfalls zu meiner aktiveren Zeit dort nie, und wenn sich die Technik dann plötzlich verschlimmbessert riecht es ranzig.

Was ich sagen will: Das war eine Zeitlange die Site mit dem Zweitgrößten Umsatz an Monero gleich hinter Poloniex, und ist im gleichen Dorf angemeldet wo Risto's Hütte steht. Dachte die sind vertrauenswürdig.
Jetzt klingt ein BCN Dev vom Nicknamen etwas Ähnlich wie "Ullus" aber das ist eine zu schwache Spur. Eine Liste von Sites die mehr als aktzeptabel mit Bytecoin verbandelt sind würde mich interessieren, aber auch mit etwas Beweislage dahinter. Mit rumgerüchten kommt man in diesem Dschungel offensichtlich nicht wirklich vorran. Das BCN Tradevolumen auf HitBTC bei dem aktuellen Pump'n'dump zeigt auch wieder nur eine schwache Spur auf.
Womöglich kommt da noch eine Börse dazu.

Soweit ich das im Poloniex Trollbox zufällig gelesen habe, steht ein Fork bevor. Mal schauen wie sich das noch weiter auswirkt. Sollte für Long Hodler aber egal sein

Premise
ChainRadar has suddenly started displaying a "From Transaction" value for transactions with a ring signature. By making a series of test transactions and then putting simplewallet into RPC mode, those "From Transaction" values can be scraped from ChainRadar and then checked against the transaction IDs of your spent outputs. If it is correct then the transaction will appear in your spent outputs, although there is something of a chance of a false positive. For large test samples in large wallets I would expect to see anything up to 5% false positives.
Results
I tested 19 transactions, some mixin 4 and some mixin 20 (excluding my own signature, so mixin 5 and 21 according to ChainRadar).
For these transactions none of them were completely compromised by ChainRadar, and ChainRadar got 0 out of 157 guesses correct, not even an accidentally correct guess or a false positive. Absolutely zero.

Premise
ChainRadar has suddenly started displaying a "From Transaction" value for transactions with a ring signature. By making a series of test transactions and then putting simplewallet into RPC mode, those "From Transaction" values can be scraped from ChainRadar and then checked against the transaction IDs of your spent outputs. If it is correct then the transaction will appear in your spent outputs, although there is something of a chance of a false positive. For large test samples in large wallets I would expect to see anything up to 5% false positives.
Results
I tested 19 transactions, some mixin 4 and some mixin 20 (excluding my own signature, so mixin 5 and 21 according to ChainRadar).
For these transactions none of them were completely compromised by ChainRadar, and ChainRadar got 0 out of 157 guesses correct, not even an accidentally correct guess or a false positive. Absolutely zero.

Ein Fork ist später geplant um z.b. auch Multisig einzubauen, aber das ist seit Monaten geplant.
Komischerweise passiert sowas wenn Bytecoin nach 8 Monaten mal wieder aktiv wird...

Die Fragestellung in dem Thread-Titel, die ist einfach nicht ideal. Mich würden ua. eher berechtigte Zweifel und Kritik sowie offene, unbeantwortete Fragen zu Monero als Diskussionsthema interessieren. Weil nur daran kann man mgl. Probleme erkennen, lernen und wachsen.
Denn die entscheidende Frage ist doch eben nicht, ob Monero Potential(e) besitzt oder nicht. Weil diese a) offensichtlich sichtbar sind und b) auch von niemand Ernstzunehmenden bestritten werden.
