Translation of the topic "Recovering hacked/lost accounts" by theymos has been in the Russian section for a long time and is fixed on the main page of the section Boccтaнoвлeниe дocтyпa к yчётнoй зaпиcи 2018
I can write to the author of an older article, but there is a nuance: Last Active: January 30, 2020, 01:09:53 PM
The person is not present on the forum for a very long time. Is there any sense to write such a request ?

Given the new information provided by DrBeer, I believe that best approach in this case would be that Xal0lex should remove the old sticky thread and replace it with DrBeerr's translation. I can not understand the language but, from what I see, DrBeer's is (1) up to date, while the other one is not, (2) mirroring the original thread better, compared with the old translation and (3) DrBeer can be reached for any future updates needed, while the author of the old translation is gone from the forum.

It's not up to me to make such decision but this is how I would proceed if the decision would be in my hands... I hope this helps.

"Recovering hacked/lost accounts" by theymos in Indonesia translation is ready

Great job dansus021! Now this thread has already 12 translations, which is... wow! It's most translated thread since AOBT's birth, having 12 translations, together with TalkImg and LocalMonero threads  Smiley

You're right Xal0lex: I have just included a new link to the pinned translation you mentioned.

Unfortunately, there are a few things that should be improved/updated, as Gazeta pointed a few posts above. DrBeer, if you can ask the OP to update it (as I did in the Spanish board) it would be great. In the meantime, we're maintaining the link to the second translation as [RUS2], just in case.

Found a sick thread, and I think what @Tyke created, we should be able to share with the world without any language barriers. Isn't there any concern or plan at AOBT to help him?

Thank you for the update, Porf! A small mention though, I noticed that you added the translation made by DrBeer for Husna's topic as being done in "[RUS]" but it should be "[UKR"] Smiley

You're right; sorry DrBeer. The link is now correctly named [UKR]

then i have a request for the other translators of this topic.
please have your translations pinned in the respective local boards by your moderators so that they are always visible and not forgotten Wink
I'm afraid that it won't be so easy in some local boards, but it's an interesting request, we will try.

I come with good news here: Cyrus agreed and made the Romanian translation as sticky topic in Romanian local board! He considered the translation to be useful enough for making it sticky and, at same time, he requested that if the email address from the topic will be changed, to make sure all translators update their translations.

Having this in mind, I also encourage all the other translators to talk with their local board mods and kindly ask them to make these translations as sticky topics (they can also mention that in German and Romanian boards the translations are sticky topics, thus this may be a good reason for helping on this matter.)

At same time, since this is crucial (and Cyrus emphasized this too), I will insist on making sure these translations display the correct information regarding the emails address mentioned. I also mentioned this in my previous post. I checked all the translations and only 2 of them do not display the email correctly, so I thank all translators which already did this update.

For the remaining 2 translation which need update: Peanuts war, please do it as well. And I kindly ask Porf to talk with the Spanish translator franckuestein, for updating his translation as well, in order to have the email correctly displayed. This is very important, since if the information is not correct, local board users will send email in vain, at non-existent addresses...

I've already sent him an email. I hope he reads it soon. Thanks again Gazeta Smiley

About the new topic, let's see what others say. Otherwise, the one for Android users sounds like a good choice.

Thank you DS! Let's see what the others say as well. But from your previous post I saw there 3 topics in English, not only 2. There was one more, with the tutorial for Android -- which may be as useful as the other 2 tutorials. In any case, let's not rush things and see what the others say as well. Besides, as Porf recommended, please suggest one topic at a time though, not all 3 Smiley (We may think about the other 2 ones after finishing one of the 3 topics.)

DrBeer, I am simply amazed by your efforts! This is really incredible! And, at same time, since you said you will also make the Russian translation for Husna's topic, this implies an amazing amount of dedication!

Temporarily posted in the Archive section, as the article is very extensive, and requires verification (involved users from the Ukrainian section, for final proofreading and possible correction).

All good here, it's understandable...

Thanks to GazetaBitcoin for identifying "typos" and errors in the above translation.

You are very welcome, it was a real pleasure to be able to help! You can count on me here also for the Russian translation.

Hoooray!

As a heads-up for the remaining 2 topics, soon both will have 10 translations thus they will be finished (more details below).

Husna's topic has 8 translations and DrBeer is doing the Russian one as well, while r_victory is working on the Portuguese translations, hence it's only a matter of time until we will have 2 more translations here and 10 in total.
fillippone's topic also has 8 translations and paid2 and r_victory are working on translating the thread in French, respective Portuguese, hence again it's only a matter of time until we will have 2 more translations and 10 in total.

I think that we can start thinking about this, since we have only two translations pending. Which one do you think is the most clear and valid for all? because not everybody uses linux or knows Bangla Tongue
Learn Bitcoin recently reposted the topics with updated info/images. So if I were to choose, I would choose these two below. Tongue

For Windows users: ▶ [Eng: Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message - Fingerprint -mdayonliner - English
For Android users: ▶ [Android Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message - Learn Bitcoin - English

EDIT: Yes there were 3 topics in English, the third one was for "LINUX' users. And as Porf said, not everyone uses linux, that's why I didn't include that. Hope it clears all.

Dear Gazeta and Porfirii

Good day AOBT,

I wish to let you know that I've finished my translation of TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk into pidgin TalkImg.com - Image hosting 4 BitcoinTalk and also included all the update.

Added as well. Thank you Chilwell Smiley

Dear Gazeta and Porf

I think the topics on PGP are worth translating. I could not find them in the "FINISHED translations" section, so I guess they were not translated by AOBT (not sure). I am quoting all the related topics in all languages that are available for PGP.

#1 [Tutorial] PGP/GPG (Mac OS X) started by Husna QA - Indonesian
#2 [Tutorial] PGP/GPG (Linux) started by joniboini - Indonesian
#3 [Tutorial] PGP/GPG (Microsoft Windows) started by Husna QA - Indonesian

Some months ago, Learn Bitcoin made those same tutorials with the latest information in "English" and "Bangla". So I'm quoting those also.

I will be very happy to hear feedback from you guys. What do you think?! Should it be added to "Translations IN PROGRESS" & so on!

Out of the three topics I proposed to translate a few days ago, as Gazeta suggested, let's add Recovering hacked/lost accounts by theymos to the list of ongoing translations.
I will do this translation too.

Please find here the Romanian translation of the topic: Recuperarea conturilor sparte / pierdute.

I have a small mention to Porf / Hatchy / cygan / Peanutswar and also to the other translators which will translate this thread and will encounter the following issue: this thread contains an email address, written with blue font. If you copy/paste it in the translation, the email will appear as censored for unknown reasons. It will look like this:

[email protected]

In order to have the email appearing correctly in your translation, you need to use the following BBCode:

Code:
[color=blue]recoveries_2021_xxlgg[nobbc]@[/nobbc]bitcointalk.org[/color]

Thus it will look like this: [email protected].

I noticed this BBCode at mindrust's translation and also at DS' translation. And I used it as well. I hope this helps.

That being said, theymos' topic has now 8 translations already, thus only 2 more are needed for finishing it. Considering that dansus021 is also working on the Indonesian translation and, as far as I know, DrBeer manifested also his interest in translating this topic, we will have soon 10 translations done.

Great job to all translators which made that possible -- cygan, mindrust, DS, Peanutswar and Hatchy!

I will be very happy to hear feedback from you guys. What do you think?! Should it be added to "Translations IN PROGRESS" & so on!

Thank you for your suggestion, DS! From my perspective, we should focus on the English topics. But let's see what others say as well. Also, We still have 3 topics in progress, so maybe better wait until our list diminishes, at least with one topic...?

 Statistics  Update____________________
AoBTers, when you have a minute, please check joker_josue's thread because there have been a few changes since we last updated our translations.

Thank you for the heads-up, joker_josue and Porf!

Regarding the TalkImg topic updates, please be aware that at Statistics section the update includes the following: the number of images, the used disk space, the date of the last update and the monthly statistics for the interval Sep '23 - Feb '24.

Additionally I observed the topic has one more update, meaning a new sections added, which should be added to the translations as well:

new Events  ___________________
TalkImg Awards - Image of the Year 2023 | sponsored by BC.Game / Icarus

I added all these updates in the Romanian translation.

Other than the above, great job to all AOBTers which updated the translations of TalkImg and Pie Baking Contest threads! And big congrats to those which already translated the lattest added topic! I will try to work on this translation soon.

i would like to personally thank our turkish aobt member mindtrust for his generous merit distribution today Smiley
he has rewarded many of my translated topics/topics with 3 merits each Shocked
sometimes this kind of reward is worth more than a thousand words or even participation in a signature campaign...

I would also like to thank mindrust for his generosity!

Question to all translators here.
What is the payment rate for translating an article of 500-1000 words? It doesn't have to be precise, but something roughly from-to.

I need to make an offer for multilingualism for a small site, it would be useful information. Most likely, there will be a need for Russian, Chinese and German for now.

Hey examplens, congratulations for your potential deal. It is not easy to find new customers these days.

I think that 0.06 USD per word is a good price for a professional translation, which would be 30-60 USD for an article of 500-1000 words. No need to say that, if you need help with different languages, we will be happy to help you.
