Yes, he was discovered at São Paulo, but the club where he was very successful in Brazil was Internacional do Rio Grande do Sul. There he became known throughout Brazil and managed to get a transfer to Europe to play for Chelsea. He scored the Brazilian goal in the fateful match against Germany, which Brazil lost 7-1. I still remember the narrator Galvão Bueno saying that he was a "boy who had joy in his legs" hahahahaha
I remember this player, and we thought the 2014 brasilian team was the worst compared to today lol  Roll Eyes

Another great player who had everything to be a superstar and be among the best in the world was Nilmar, who played in the 2010 World Cup, I think, as well as Ganso.

How can we explain the phenomenon of these players who played brilliant football?

In 2010, people said that Ganso was better than Neymar.

This phenomenon of "eternally promising" players is inexplicable. I remember several, Nilmar, Alexandre Pato, Oscar, Lenny (who played for Palmeiras), Adryan (ex-Flamengo), there are many, later I'll even search on Google to see what happened to these players.

About Paulo Henrique Ganso, it's true, the sports media always put him in a position of great star, but time is relentless and has shown that despite being a great player, he was known for being slow and "sleepy" on the field.

Soon we will have the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, the famous "copinha", there usually appear some very interesting players with a promising future. Do people here like to follow this championship too?

I see, so he was revealed at São Paulo? It's more than fair for him to retire here with his favorite team. If in doubt, São Paulo itself must have some right over his player's pass. Anyway, it's interesting to know that, waiting for the start of the season to see how everything unfolds.

Flamengo not renewing David Luiz's contract is a mistake. He should have at least received a lower salary. He has some experience to share. I expected more from Filipe Luís.

About Oscar, the last news I had about him was that he went to play in Asian football for a very good salary. At the time, he had prioritized his family over his career. Depending on how he comes back, he could retire right here.

I agree with you about David Luiz. I think it was a huge mistake for Flamengo not to renew his contract for at least one more season. He is already a wealthy player and probably reducing his salary would not be a problem. In this generational transition, it is very important to have players like him in the squad, even if he is just on the bench.

Regarding Oscar, Flamengo tried to sign him for many years, but was never successful. Apparently, he is returning to São Paulo to retire from the field. It is more a way of showing gratitude to the club than trying to continue his career as a professional player.

In a broader sense, they really haven't evolved much, from what I understand. But just because they haven't been relegated, I believe that the coaching staff and fans don't care much about these numbers. The important thing is that they're doing well and ready for the next one.
Maybe next year we will see Corinthians getting better at playing but there is no guarantee, this is just like hope for team that could actually compete well but they have always performed inconsistently here in the Brazil Serie-A.

~snip~
I'm a Corinthians fan, but I'm very critical of the team and I think they've made too many mistakes
The team's results in the Copa do Brasil, Brazilian Championship and Sudamericana don't reflect the team's reality

They reached two semi-finals and finished seventh in the Brazilian championship and qualified for the Libertadores knockout stage
However, the two semi-finals were very lucky and at no point did I get the feeling that they were a strong team capable of being champions
Just like in the Brasileiro, they spent most of the time near the relegation zone and didn't play well for half the season

They had a spectacular rally, but it was too late and now the great hope is that they will continue this work next year, with Memphis Depay and perhaps one or two more reinforcements
Previously they only reached the semifinals in the Sudamericana but Corinthians game was quite satisfying and only 1 goal difference from both the first and second leg match, now I just want to see them reach the semifinals again and win it to enter the final and compete for the Libertadores trophy or Campeonato Paulista because in the Brazil Serie-A they only have very small chance.
On the other hand, will Corinthians bring in some more players? for Memphis Depay he really played quite well in his first season and hopefully in the future he can be much better than this year.

How can one player make such a difference to a team? If they are lucky enough for Memphis to not find a better offer and stay on the team, Corinthians could give a lot of trouble to teams that have stood out in this championship. Teams should try to improve their qualifications and resolve their issues and debts if they want to continue to have good campaigns in the brasilierão. The same goes for Corinthians and Palmeiras.

I think Memphis liked Corinthians and Brazil and at least next season he'll stay in Brazil, after all his contract runs until July 2026, he's earning very well, around 550,000 dollars a month and he's attracting attention again for his soccer, so he has more chances of standing out here and being called up to Netherlands national team again

I don't think it was ONLY him who changed Corinthians, but he helped a lot and was a turning point for the team
I'm no longer so optimistic about Corinthians' financial situation, and I bet it could get even worse, even with so many fans and so much income, it's still a mess  Tongue

For those of you who still want to place some bets this year, and watch a few more matches, I recommend going to our friend joker's thread and following Portuguese soccer
Here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/portuguese-league-liga-portugal-202425-5505111

I think Memphis brought a new breath of fresh air to the team and gave them the energy they needed. He must have contributed something, because it doesn't make sense for him to arrive and the team to start doing well in the games. So, he must have had a direct connection with the changes.

Memphis really changed Corinthians. I don't know exactly what he did to change the mentality of the team. Is he a great leader? Because everything changed coincidentally after his arrival. If he had arrived at the beginning of the championship, would Corinthians have fought to be the Brazilian champion?

Guys, I created a topic about the Brazilian state championships that start in a few weeks. If you want to talk about these championships, the link is this:

Very good! Another topic about Brazilian football. I can't wait to watch the best of Brazilian football, I'll leave my comment there! I'm keeping an eye on some teams in my region precisely because of the revelations they can bring.

It's always good to have games to follow and speculate about. It's really bad that there are no games during the holidays. I don't follow the European championships very much, I just watch the most relevant news.

The transfer season has also started. Flamengo won't renew David Luiz's contract and Sao Paulo wants to sign midfielder Oscar.... I think Oscar is a player who's way past his prime, a kind of eternal promise, practically a Denilson of this generation.

Corinthians really surprised a lot in this final stretch of the championship. They spent a lot on signings, but it was all worth it. And I really believe that if there were more matches they would win and increase their consecutive victories.
A really amazing winning streak, but if look at the results for this season it is almost the same as last season because last season they only got 12 win and now they have 15 win, this is only 3 win apart and for the points they are only 6 points apart.
We see later whether they can get success in the Campeonato Paulista or not but Corinthians is the most successful team in this competition, for the Brazil Serie-A next season I think Corinthians also still can't be team that is able to fight for the title.

If I'm not mistaken, fan tokens already exist. I've seen some from Vasco, Flamengo, Corinthians and Santos... This one from Santos is even listed on Binance. But I have no idea how the clubs manage to make money from it.

I also remember that when Messi was hired by PSG, he received part of the payment in club tokens. It seems to be a highly profitable market for the clubs.

Here is the link to the article with Messi:

One way i can imagine clubs profiting from their own tokens is if they are the largest holders of coins and dump them on their users whenever they reach a price spike. But i don't think it's a good idea for them to do that, as it would lose credibility.

A fairer and healthier way for clubs to make money is if they offer exclusive benefits to those who have the token, such as discounts on tickets to their matches and access to content or discounts on their products.

now imagine if there was something like a meme coin for teams popularity, heavily attached to their wins, kind like sports betting but more fluid, not something game by game, a bit more like price over time
this could be something interesting to watch or create.
This is definitely a cool idea!

Fans could trade and invest, creating a gamified football market. It would help clubs generate more revenue and offer exclusive benefits, combining passion, economy and blockchain technology.

Some brazilian clubs already have fan tokens, but imagine if they were used in a smarter way?

There's no need to be upset
I risk saying that fans don't usually care about numbers at all, they care about vibes, even more than about winning or losing, but of course vibes are better when there are several wins in a row.
the herd mentality is strong, at the end of the day why some people choose some teams instead of others?
probably to feel like the belong to something bigger than themselves
Corinthians seems to be a team that only improves when it is at its worst, as if it were a V-shaped recovery, seeing the threat of being relegated, then they improve, spending a lot of money to sign foreign players.

As for Corinthians fans, they don't care if the team is in a good or bad phase, they will always cheer for the excitement.

In a broader sense, they really haven't evolved much, from what I understand. But just because they haven't been relegated, I believe that the coaching staff and fans don't care much about these numbers. The important thing is that they're doing well and ready for the next one.

The winning streak and remaining in the Brazilian Championship's Serie A will only make the team continue as it is and do nothing to solve its financial problems. This bomb will probably explode at some point and what happened with Cruzeiro will happen. Sometimes I think it would be healthier for the club to be relegated and be forced to solve its financial problems before moving forward... continuing in crisis as it is, spending money on signings (without money) will only make the problem worse in the future.

That's a great way to think. Once they were relegated, shame would take over, now they are in Serie A and nothing has really changed. Next year it should be the same thing, Memphis must be waiting for a better offer to leave and a good part of the team will break if he leaves.
