Btw, I'd like to ask you a favor: when I update it, can you kindly translate and publish the Pidgin version of the OP? That way you have some entertainment until next proposal Cheesy.

Well here's the translation of the op As requested in pidgin. I got occupied during the week but I had already made the translation days ago just needed time to proof read it before posting on my Localboard. I also was able to finish this translation I had promised to complete earlier here are the links

Service announcement: [AOBT] ALLIANCE OF BITCOINTALK TRANSLATORS

Great! Thank you Hatchy, I'll update all the links right now.

Lastly, my current signature campaign had ended, and I won't be joining another one anytime soon, so I decided to wear the AOBT signature, but found out that there wasn't one made for my current rank FULL MEMBER. I wanted to ask if it were possible to get @jayce the original designer of the AOBT signatures to create one for the full member rank.

Also, I noticed we didn't have an avatar for the AOBT and since Im also good at graphics designs and arts, I decided to put my skills to work.  Smiley I made an avatar for the gang, I actually designed 2 and want the gang to see if its okay or pick from both avatar, which will be better as THE AOBT AVATAR. I would love to hear from you guys so I can put the avatar on.
Here's the avatar

-snip-

Hey! that was really unexpected Cheesy

Thank you for your effort and motivation. I think that other members like the idea too (I personally do). It reminds me of Ace Attorney, but instead of "Objection!" it would be more like "Translation!"

Porf: please be aware that there are some translations made by you which have still the old model for the above sentence (link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4; at link 4 maybe you can take a look also at the image links as they are broken...).

Thank you Gazeta, these days are being chaotic with many exams, but I'll edit them asap.

In fact, I like to add at the end of my translations the following code

I added it to all my translations which were made at AOBT's initiative (I did not add the banner to the translations I made before they were proposed here).

Last but not least: Hatchy, OP was updated. Welcome to our Hall of Fame!! Smiley

Please don't forget to add also this line at the end of each translation (translated in French, of course): "Translation made at AOBT inițiative.".

This recommendation is for all AOBT translators and it has been also mentioned in the past for a few times Smiley

So, following Gazeta's reminder, please, take it into account when you finish your new translations and update, when possible, the old ones too.

Thank you.  Smiley
I've updated the last topic, I'll take care of the previous ones later when I'll have more time.

Let me explain the Avatar according to each images in it.

If you look closely, you will see a collection of flags of different countries: that shows that we translate to different languages

The hand and pen signifies that we offer our writing and translation skills

Then the BTC shows that we are Bitcoin translators

The speed lines close to the title AOBT shows that we also deliver our services speedily

That's all though I will be waiting for the teams responses.

Well done for the avatars  Smiley

Since the topic was added to our list, I have to mention that I already translated it, a long time ago Smiley De ce oamenii ar trebui să utilizeze adrese SegWit
Porf, can you add the Romanian translation to the list, please?

As a plus, the topic was translated also in German language by 1miau (Vorteile der Verwendung von SegWit Adressen) and in Pidgin language by knowngunman (Na why people go dey use SegWit addresses).

Thank you! I have just added the all translations mentioned.

wow Gazeta!
that is a very impressive achievement and i was not aware that you had translated the bitcoin whitepaper on bitcoin.org until now Shocked👍

Thank you cygan! Have you missed this thread of mine - The shameful Romanian translation of Bitcoin white paper from Bitcoin.org? This is how all started -- the idea of changing the existing translation. And here I announced that the new translation was accepted!

For the next one, I would like to propose a translation of another 1miau topic, which in my opinion is extremely useful: Why people should be using SegWit addresses

Hey Porf!

I'd like to change my testimony from OP. Are you so kind, please, to change the following part?
✂️

wow Gazeta!
that is a very impressive achievement and i was not aware that you had translated the bitcoin whitepaper on bitcoin.org until now Shocked👍

btw @Porfirii why can't i find a testimony to my user? Grin

We wrote them when we created the Alliance and since then we haven't updated it. Tell me the one you want and I'll add it below Wink

Gazeta, I'm also updating yours right now. And, of course, if any other AoBTer wants to add or change any testimony, let me know.

Original topic: Why people should be using SegWit addresses
Author: 1miau

French translation: Pourquoi tout le monde devrait utiliser des adresses Segwit

I know I'm a bit early, but as I'll be a bit unavailable next week, so at least it'll already be done.  Smiley

So fast! OK, I'll create the new link and add add a link to your translation. Thank you Wink

and thank you too cygan: the good thing is that it was a short topic and your effort translating it wasn't a big waste.

thank you, but in fact i was lucky and didn't have to take more time for the translation as usual Tongue
btw the polish translation is now finished and can be viewed here: Handel vs. HODL - unikanie pułapek

@1miau the polish translation of yours interesting topic Trade vs. HODL - avoid traps was already published by me in the polish section at the beginning of november - but since the topic is closed, i cannot publish it there, so that it will be included in the op among the other translations

AoBTers, I would like to suggest a new topic to translate: 1miau's Trade vs. HODL - avoid traps.
Hi Porf,
The portuguese translation of this thread: Trade vs HODL - evite armadilhas

Thank you gagux123!

Just one more translation and we'll be able to move it to finished translations. Russian, Indonesian, Filipino, Italian and Arabic are still available (I'm sure that I'm forgetting some others); who will be the first one? zasad@?? Kavelj22??? Yatsan?Huh

As soon as we make it, I'll add the one proposed by iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2 as translation in progress for those waiting for new interesting material to translate.

Hatchy, this weekend at the latest, I promise Wink

Yatsan, Peanutswar, Ale88, and a couple more: you didn't take part in the vote. Please, let me know your answer so I can add it to the record, or share it with the rest of the members directly answering the group message.

Yes, I didn't forget it Haychy Wink it is just that it will take me some time to search and change all the numbers, and last weekend I spent my little free time with the voting thing. But I'll do it asap.

I'm afraid that Buchi-88 will have to wait for a new proposal again, as suppose that it is already translated into German by the OP himself (I'll check it when we make it official).

Same thing for me @Porfril, I checked and found out that there's has already been a PIDGIN translation of the thread also. So I don't think it will be necessary to translate it again to pidgin. I will just have to wait till there is another translation to make.

And also I wanted to remind you about your promise to update the original thread and adding my to the hall of Fame of the AOBT .Thanks ones again for accepting my application.

And we are all a bit lazy from time to time, aren't we?

Definitely we are  Cheesy  I agree with what you said, those topics are very nice, especially for beginners who are looking for demystifying basic things.

That said, AoBTers, you can start thinking in the next translation proposal.

For the next one, I would like to propose a translation of another 1miau topic, which in my opinion is extremely useful: Why people should be using SegWit addresses

Thank you iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2, segwit is an interesting topic that we haven't translated yet, and the fact that 1miau is the author is always a guarantee. I'm afraid that Buchi-88 will have to wait for a new proposal again, as suppose that it is already translated into German by the OP himself (I'll check it when we make it official).

Let's see if any AoBTer has any objection before adding it to the list, so we can start working on it.

I think that this kind of short and interesting OPs are the kind of translations that can encourage participation in the local boards, if native members engage in a conversation. I don't mean that longer and more technical topics are not valuable (good guides are very helpful not only for members but for visitors too), but shorter texts are faster to translate and easier to read. And we are all a bit lazy from time to time, aren't we?

Hey Porf, please fin here the Romanian translation of this thread: Tranzacționare vs. HODL – evitați capcanele.

Added! thank you Gazeta, with this one it has been translated into 8 languages so far. Two more and we can move it to the other list.
