The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators - ENG>SPA
Dear AoBTers,

My friend famososMuertos from the Spanish local board has proposed me that the Alliance could help by subtitling the videos from the Youtube channel: The Bitcointalk Show. I personally like the idea (last week I read a post from a new member who said that he knew the forum because he heard about it in Youtube).

What do you think?

Remember that he has to handle many translations, so let's keep in mind that this way we can help him follow the track of all of them.

Thank you very much for your comprehension.
You guys are doing a terrific job with all your translation.
That little modification in the submitting format can save me a lot of time, also considering that I do my stuff from mobile the most of the time.

Thank you cygan! translation merited and added to our list Wink

BTW, I'd like to convey all translators what fillippone recently said about the way to submit the translations of his topics in his thread Help me translate my best posts in your Local Board, for those who missed it:

RULE UPDATE
In order to speed up the update process, please submit the notice of the translation in the following format:

Polish Translation by cygan: 5 sposobów informowania zwykłych konsumentów o Bitcoinie

Customise where necessary.

I think that you can still translate some topics from those which are finished and mentioned in Porf's second post, like

the following topic is now also available in polish language: [Skrypt] Imgur do TalkImg - automatycznie naprawia uszkodzone zdjęcia/pliki

Thank you Gazeta!

Cygan (and other AoBTers), additionally, you can always propose the translation a new topic that you find interesting and which is not listed yet in the second post; that way, if nobody disagrees, we'll add it to the list.

BTW, I'm currently on holidays and a bit disconnected, but I'll also have some free time to focus in the forum very soon Wink

Both lack Polish translation.

From those in progress there are 2 topics without Polish translation:

Alternatively, you can also take a look at fillippone's topic, where you can try some translations:

Polish

German

So there are 16 interesting topics from which you may choose Smiley

I was wondering if we could add also this thread to the list of topics to be translated:

Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards

I strongly support your initiative!

However, I don't feel any need or interest in translating this topic into the FR board.

Absolutely everyone writes in near-perfect French, and there are no filthy anglicisms or "SMS from the early 2000s type" language. We're lucky enough to have users who are conscientious about language, and it's rare to find an online community where people write in such perfect French.

I think they'd be offended if I translated it for them, given their level of language  Grin.

Otherwise, I just wanted to let you know that I'm not forgetting AOBT  Smiley, as I'm currently working on Husna's (very big) topic and it's taking up a lot of time.

You know better than us your board, so if you think that it makes no sense, then it is up to you to decide whether you post it or not. Keep up with Husna's "Monster" thread Wink it is really interesting in many points, but a bit long and technical to translate, so every translator who finishes it has my admiration Smiley

There are 2^256 private keys out there: how big is that number? In Progress for Translation  Cool and I already made reserve post

Porfirii I think you should make an avatar for AOBT  Grin

Thank you dansus! new link to Indonesian board added to the list of translations. About the avatar, it could be a good complement to the current signature. How can we do it? maybe a little contest where anyone can participate and then we vote?

Great! thank you dansus021, that topic has been translated only into a few languages so far, and it is very funny to read so one can learn a few curiosities about Bitcoin.

Btw, I see that you are waiting to be accepted in a new signature campaign. Don't feel obligated, I just remember you that you have a AoBT signature to wear in the meantime, if you feel like it. Anyway, you truly deserve to find a paid one soon.

Thank you Gazeta! topic added to the list. I also added a much needed READ BEFORE TRANSLATING!!!

<...>

as already mentioned here, since yesterday the polish translation of the above quoted topic is ready and can be found here:
5 sposobów informowania zwykłych konsumentów o Bitcoinie

Updated!

Also, as both topics 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin and #meritislife: how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions reached the 10 translations into different languages and were posted in local, following the criteria suggested by Husna QA I have moved them to "Translations FINISHED".

It would be nice to keep adding more languages to both topics: I only move them to arrange the list.

BTW, those who already translated #meritislife: how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions, please, edit it by adding Husna QA's code.

Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards

At least, those interested in contributing to the improvement of quality in their local boards can act by working on this topic. However, the translation should not be a literal one, but an adapted one. Meaning that the translators should add, eventually, some materials from their language inside the translation, present what should be improved, what should be avoided and so on. For this reason, such a translation is a complex one, as it represents, in fact, the creation of a different topic in the respective local board and the issues presented in the topic should match the issues from the respective local board.

For example, when I and 1miau made translations of this topic in Romanian and German boards we mentioned the problems of "Romglish" and "Denglish", which are a monster killer of the mother language, by mixing English with Romanian and, respectively, with German. This is not natural and, in decades, it will only alter the language.

So if anyone is interested, the following form should be filled:

Since our campaign is dedicated to local boards, I would be happy if you can bring our campaign to your local board and add your own points, relevant for your local board.
Important:
Part of the task is to review our German and Romanian topics and create your own topic dedicated to your local board, not a translation of the Meta announcement.
As a reference, your topic should be unique and customized for your local board. [...]

You can already apply below by reserving your language, just submit a post:

Hey Porf,

I spotted 2 small errors in the list of translations in progress. Are you si kind, please, to fix them? I listed them below

Bengali language appears twice inside the list of translations for fillippone's 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin.
Inside the list of translations for the second topic the hyperlink of the Filipino translation redirects to a post from fillippone's topic, not to the Filipino translation.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Gazeta! you were right, the "BEN" translation was repeated, I don't know why I added it a second time (alcohol is not a good idea when editing a post, I guess Cheesy).

The link to the filipino translation is the one that appeared in the "Help me translate..." thread and directed to a post inside the filipino translation, but it is true that it is better linked to the OP, so I've just edited it too.

BTW, how many translations would be enough to consider a topic as "finished"? Do you think that 10 are enough? I guess that the remaining languages could always be translated even if they are not in the "in progress" list anymore, but what do you think?
How about at least 2/3 of the total languages that already have translators?

That would be nine to ten translations, seems like a reasonable number to me. Therefore, I'm moving some topics from "in progress" to "finished". Thank you Husna Smiley

Let's leave 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin in progress for a few more weeks (even if 10 translations were achieved), because aysg76 has recently said in "help me translate..." the convenience of this topic to be translated into as many languages as possible.

dansus021, you've been added to the OP, so you're now officially IN. Congratulations AoBTer!!!

I have to adjust the boxes in the OP a bit (I feel a little OCD every time I see them) but let's wait for the end of this month when I update all members' data.

Since Cygan and Miau are actively working together, everything should be translated into German at the moment, at least I don't know of any topic that is still open?

That's correct, and since other translators still have to catch up with the current topics, me included, let's wait a little bit before proposing a new one. You can go on some (short) vacations Buchi-88 Cheesy
