I also believe it's a great decision and, since I considered this topic being very useful, I already translated it Please find here the Romanian translation: [Tutorial Android] Semnătură PGP – Criptează / Decriptează un mesaj. I am glad to be the first one which translated this topic, especially since Learn Bitcoin translated multiple topics of mine, thus I feel very good doing the same for him now.

Great job, LB, with this tutorial and thank you DS for proposing it!

Out of the proposed topics about PGP, I agree that this is the most useful for many people (roughly 3/4 smartphone users are Android users) and the easiest way to learn fast how to encrypt/decrypt messages.

I also like the idea of replacing the code in the OP with our own PGP code.

As other members also chose this topic, let's add it to the list of translations in progress

You should start with this topic first. It's the easiest and shortest topic on PGP (Android).

Note: As for the PGP keys inside the post, I'm not sure if it should be replaced with the respective translators PGP keys (if have one). Because the main author might not be there to reply in different local boards or help users or encrypt or decrypt messages using PGP.

While waiting for DS to suggest on of the two topics, I thought to make another suggestion myself, since the existing two topics are supposed to be finished soon (both have translations in progress, which will led to have 10 translations for each of them). If that will happen, we will remain only with the topic proposed by DS.

A while ago I proposed translating the thread of a service - AgoraDesk - since it was a service meant to protect users' privacy. I was glad the topic was accepted, for the reason I provided. Having this in mind, I would like to propose now the translation of Jambler thread, which has same purpose as AgoraDesk: protect people's privacy and anonymity. As a plus, this service was allowed by theymos to not be censored on the forum, so it's fully respecting all forum rules.

Since I consider this a very important project for the benefit of users as a whole, I translated this topic myself.

I would like to hear AOBTers opinion about this proposal.

I am aware of the project, although there is a longer thread if I'm not wrong. I think it id a good idea to increase the awareness in the local boards, let's see what other members think.

Given the new information provided by DrBeer, I believe that best approach in this case would be that Xal0lex should remove the old sticky thread and replace it with DrBeerr's translation. I can not understand the language but, from what I see, DrBeer's is (1) up to date, while the other one is not, (2) mirroring the original thread better, compared with the old translation and (3) DrBeer can be reached for any future updates needed, while the author of the old translation is gone from the forum.

It's not up to me to make such decision but this is how I would proceed if the decision would be in my hands... I hope this helps.

You're right Xal0lex: I have just included a new link to the pinned translation you mentioned.

Unfortunately, there are a few things that should be improved/updated, as Gazeta pointed a few posts above. DrBeer, if you can ask the OP to update it (as I did in the Spanish board) it would be great. In the meantime, we're maintaining the link to the second translation as [RUS2], just in case.

There was one more, with the tutorial for Android -- which may be as useful as the other 2 tutorials. In any case, let's not rush things and see what the others say as well. Besides, as Porf recommended, please suggest one topic at a time though, not all 3 (We may think about the other 2 ones after finishing one of the 3 topics.)

As a heads-up for the remaining 2 topics, soon both will have 10 translations thus they will be finished (more details below).

Husna's topic has 8 translations and DrBeer is doing the Russian one as well, while r_victory is working on the Portuguese translations, hence it's only a matter of time until we will have 2 more translations here and 10 in total.
fillippone's topic also has 8 translations and paid2 and r_victory are working on translating the thread in French, respective Portuguese, hence again it's only a matter of time until we will have 2 more translations and 10 in total.

I come with good news here: Cyrus agreed and made the Romanian translation as sticky topic in Romanian local board! He considered the translation to be useful enough for making it sticky and, at same time, he requested that if the email address from the topic will be changed, to make sure all translators update their translations.

Having this in mind, I also encourage all the other translators to talk with their local board mods and kindly ask them to make these translations as sticky topics (they can also mention that in German and Romanian boards the translations are sticky topics, thus this may be a good reason for helping on this matter.)

At same time, since this is crucial (and Cyrus emphasized this too), I will insist on making sure these translations display the correct information regarding the emails address mentioned. I also mentioned this in my previous post. I checked all the translations and only 2 of them do not display the email correctly, so I thank all translators which already did this update.

For the remaining 2 translation which need update: Peanuts war, please do it as well. And I kindly ask Porf to talk with the Spanish translator franckuestein, for updating his translation as well, in order to have the email correctly displayed. This is very important, since if the information is not correct, local board users will send email in vain, at non-existent addresses...

Learn Bitcoin recently reposted the topics with updated info/images. So if I were to choose, I would choose these two below.
