Mining reward has now halved to 6.25 GLC per block. Here's some interesting facts.

GLC issued per day: ~13,500

Currently 13,500 GLC equates to a mere 0.01 BTC worth of inflation per day (1 GLC = 80 satoshis)

To date 88% of all Globalcoin to exist have been mined - 62 million out of the 70 million.

95,000+ Globalcoin addresses have been seen on the network.

Current Wealth Distribution of said addresses:

Top 10   14,718,416 GLC   23.70 %
Top 100    38,522,136 GLC   62.04 %
Top 1000   56,176,578 GLC   90.47 %
All 95398   62,093,363 GLC   100 %

The largest single address not belonging to an exchange holds 2,185,652.8 GLC or 3.52 % of all currently mined coins. This address last saw input/output 224 days 23 hours ago.

According to address tagging the dominate GLC exchange cryptsy.com holds roughly 22 million GLC across 493 non-zero addresses with 841 known addresses. The largest single address at crypsty holds 2 million GLC.

I think the Developer is having issues cleaning up the code that was implemented on last client update.  He is looking for a bit of help if you know your way around some code.

Mr. Fista says he is seeking out folks to help and I have contacted two guys from previous posts that we put on backburner when Mr. Fista was active on github.   Hopefully we can find resolution o the client issue and get something pushed before 2 year anniversary.

Look at this address finding literally every new block within seconds, network reports 5GH/s while difficulty is only 3!

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/glc/address.dws?7H4mwvXQkxhWhY75AcNAcmDCp1JbJPZPdX.htm

Funds are then sent to this address, nothing spent yet though..

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/glc/address.dws?7LtgZx2yhaNEFVBW91x3GuUJsDghxBNEaR.htm

This address finds hundreds of blocks within a few minutes, next the network slows to a crawl with new blocks taking multiple hours to be found.

Doesn't seem to be effecting how many new coins are mined daily, that's all staying on projected targets; just transactions are being held up for hours.

Aaaand they're back again...

Developer needs to address this ASAP.

That means we are the 52nd oldest living crypto.  Such cool data man.  I appreciate that info.

Spoke to Mr. Fista, apparently he is searching for a job and just needs to find time to clean up the code to get it to a workable compile.

In other news, subsidy is set to halve in 7.64 days, at block 1,153,600(if halves every 288400 blocks), if the network is reaching the 2160 daily blocks it should be.

6.25 coins per block, ready or not, here we come.

I finally corrected the GLC logo, fixing the cutoff line at the bottom of the coin, was so irritating. Smiley

We should be passing the 100,000 wallet mark in near future as well.  Dash only has 43,000 wallets, but we have been around alot longer so, that is to be expected.

Smart looking coin, just need new client and a mobile wallet and that should get us to the next step, whatever that is...

Thanks for the kind words.

I wonder how many of the coins released before GLC are still a going concern.

I've edited the post above to include that info.

It's a best guess; there is only one reasonably reliable state and that's “listed on an exchange”. Otherwise, if they're not actually known (or strongly suspected) to be defunct/inactive (same thing, I wavered in my terminology) then they're assumed to be extant. That's likely to produce a lot of false positives but it's a fair price to avoid inadvertently upsetting a coin's community by publishing fud.

Cheers

wow, great info GJ.  I wonder how many of the coins released before GLC are still a going concern.

Icode, I think changes are in Github, you can probably check the work  to make sure it will not break the network upon adoption and compile the windows client and you would be good to go.  I have not heard from Mr. Fista in a couple weeks.

I hope he is doing okay.  His gf looks like a heartbreaker, so I hope that is not the issue.

Interestingly, I would think Globalcoin was about the 70th crypto every.  Apparently this website, http://cryptodatabase.net/,  has 1216 cryptos listed, which would put GLC in the 94th percentile.

1216 is quite low, the current total is running at 2100+. Here's a list of the first 100 coins in “release“ (only the blockchain is definitive) order. Globalcoin makes the cut at 92.

Will KGW fix this nonsense?

Yes it should address the issue.

Any news on the AuxPOW update? Is that still going ahead?

Also this is a GLC faucet is listed on that website.  Classic, like a 1996 website both in design, but in a parallel to the internet sense.  http://www.thebitcoinmaster.com/globalcoin/
